ok, so i have an irritating brother who keeps pulling out my lan cable from the hub, therefore i dont get internet, so i would like to know if there is a small box i can buy designed for hubs.

i know there are huge cases that you can buy (when you have several number of hubs, but im just looking for a smaller case).

anyone know where i can buy 1 from?

instead of a box for the hub, buy a cage for the brother

+1

I've never had a brother before but I've heard that works very well

How about mounting it to the wall behind a big desk or closet or something? Somewhere it would be too much effort to tamper with?

beat him up?
or build a lego safe with a hole for a cable :)

this sounds like my brother...

Best idea would be to moer him. or just put away the hub so that he can't find it.

Sorry for asking but why does he keep pulling out your cable?

1) i cant beat him up as my parents would kick my ass.

2) the cable for the internet can only go so far, therefore my hub is in easy reach to connect the rest of the house to the internet.

3) why does he do it........well he plays online and i do a lot of downloading......so i guess you can see how those to factors add up when you put both of them together on the same connection.....

so...any other ideas? i had an idea of building a box, and putting it in a box, but drill small holes through the back piece, and cut it through the middle, therefore allowing me to open it, put the hub inside, and close the top piece over the cables, and then add a lock to it and there we go....he cant get in and he cant open it.....sound any good?

box idea sounds good... just need some wood, nails, hammer and a lock :)

Present the problem to your parents and maybe ask your parents for an upgraded line?

Get a router that can do QoS then you can both download/game at same time.

dude, my isp gave me a 2MB line for the night as a beta tester and yet he still pulled it out, now you tell me what the hell he needs so much line for???????? my parents arent interested!

I've got that on my router and always wanted to know how that works.

Oh and snail, just go ahead and build a box. No new technology is going to solve a brat problem. You need to do it the old-fashioned way.

thanks stroebs, all the latest software in the world wont stop a brat pulling out a cable, so im gonna build the box. once i have built it i will take pics and send it to anyone curious to see what it lloks like, so just send me ur email via pm or post here and i will send the pics, but just give me bout 2 weeks or so as i work shift hours so that aint the best lol
