A good Windows tablet + keyboard for travel/work?

Can anyone recommend a good Windows tablet? I need something I can do work on when I'm travelling (must be able to work with an attachable keyboard). It needs to run Windows so I can do FTP'ing and also run Java-based applications (unless there's an alternative?).

The other main thing is that it needs to be light, and ideally around the 10" size (12" max). It also needs to be reasonably priced (don't want to spend more than say R6k + portable keyboard). Any recommendations?

At that budget.. your stuck with either an atom device or a 3rd/4th gen core cpu with crap battery life. Or brave the high seas and get an imported one from aliexpress/bangood/gearbest that runs an Apollo lake Celeron cpu (just pray gearbest knows what your zipcode is or the order will be stuck on pending for eternity)

If an atom, try get one with 4gb ram minimum. (yes intel ark says they only support 2gb max, but they can run 8gb without issues. The Atom 8300 series x5 that is)
 
Thanks for the feedback. If I push my budget to around R10k, would that offer better value for money? It's really doing basic processing though, so power isn't a major concern. Battery life isn't too much of an issue either, as I'll generally have access to power outlets. It's really about being light-weight, small and runs Windows with a keyboard option.
 
That should get you a 2nd hand Surface 3 pro .. ,maybe a surface 4 if your lucky on carbonite.co.za. Closest to that new would be the acer switch alpha's which are around 12k.. which have nice screens/cpu but terrible battery life. Avoid the Lenovo miix 500 series too as they have cr@ptastic battery life.

I'd just get a notebook to be honest. I've got a 2 in 1 and not liking the concept as much as I thought I would
