:( So the wife left her brand new iPod shuffle in her pants... they got washed last night.

We tried to dry it and left it overnight but this morning it wont turn on. :(

Any suggestions ? Do you think anyone will be able to fix it ?

try the oven trick - and put some cookies in there for good measure.

It might be too late but I'd go to the Spar or PNP and buy a bag of the crystal type kitty litter (it's silica) and drop it in there and hope for the best.

dump the whole thing in a bowl of alcohol, leave it for 10 mins and then remove and leave it somewhere for an hour or 2 to dry. Alcohol should replace any water inside it, and will evaporate much faster.

did this with my cellphone a while back!

Apparently rice works too, to absorb the moisture.

PS: Try all of these at your own risk! :D

I'd recommend doing a Google search, and verifying the claims above before trying them, especially those involving liquids...

You'd probably get better, verifiable advice through a Google search...

To add to the rice / kitty litter trick - put the device and kitty litter in a sealed container together, otherwise the rice absorbs moisture from the atmosphere.

Personally, I'd do rice, then alcohol.

Kitty litter is the new rice - unless you're having a curry in which case rice is still rice. :D

And since it's only real advice if google verifies it . . .

I did suggest dropping it in the bag. :)

jeez man if you did not quote me i could have deleted my post.
Rice is still good and, unless you have a cat, you're likely to have some in the cupboard.

I think speed is the key and since this happened last night . . .

The new one is so frikken tiny.... the last one was the old square style but was also lost (green in green grass). She likes the portability for gym
