A week with Apple ...

I am happy with iOS, but I don't follow their BS marketing like sheep do, I believe more cumbersome = not possible am real about stuff.

Fixed for you again, and since you are now reverting to insults to cover up your earlier lies, you now have 0 credibility here.

Everyone uses WhatsApp, that is what you use. There are much better apps but the world doesn't use that, they use Whatsapp and Whatsapp doesn't work correctly on iOS, WhatsApp is nerfed on Apple.

^check how the sheep are going to lose their minds now.. you telling me Whatsapp on iOS cannot do what WhatsApp on android can do, yes that is exactly what I am saying.

Just wondering if you’ve seen/used the Files app?

We send 50+ hi-res images of various subject matter per day, it's impossible on iOS, so we need to resort to doing it via MacBook and web.whatsapp which works exactly like whatsapp on android,
So instead of saving the images to files app you send them to your laptop and send from the website (instead of using the native OS X app)? That’s more steps?

So they wifey just bought to the Apple ecosystem. iPhone 13 + Apple Watch 7, coming from a P40 Lite.

She's noticed that apps and tasks are noticeably faster on the android. In terms of launching apps, sending attachments etc. I didn't believe it until I saw it for myself.
that's to be expected no,its like going from a honda jazz to BMW M5

I can't see how apps such as Facebook or Instagram have more functionality on iOS ?
Instagram on ios allows stories that are longer than 15 secs and recorded footage is a steady 60fps,also autofocus is locked, the only negative of Instagram on ios is you have to have the Instagram app opened when uploading content otherwise it won't upload, unlike android that works like a PC and does stuff in the background.

if I really care about image quality when sending files I would use Imessage or android messages(which works the same way as iMessage iPhone to iPhone), In fact, when sending media on android messages it prompts you to send a Gphoto link to preserve image quality when the person you sending the photo to uses ios. They probably added that feature for the US market because previously it would send as an MMS. Alternatively just forward a Gdrive,iCloud link

Few years ago you could easily spot the people who uploaded photos via android. I suspect that’s changed nowadays but instagram historically favoured iOS devices

How? The quality?

Yep, it’s well documented but like I said, probably not an issue anymore:

Yea I don't think it's an issue - that article was 7 years ago :P

But I think you'd be hard pressed (impossible) to tell the difference anymore.

Yea, I remember it well because it was around that time when I switched to iOS. And the difference was night and day

No, you clearly said it was incapable of sending photos as attachments, which is wrong, it's possible, just more cumbersome.
I'm with you on this one...

@Thor don't hide behind semantics now..."incapable" means incapable, that's what you stated...

Some whatsapp features are Android exclusive, some are iOS exclusive. It frustrates me that up to this day, whatsapp call notifications are not supported by my Apple Watch - I miss a lot of WhatsApp calls that way (not sure if it available on later versions of WatchOS, which I cannot use)

Also, it would have been cool to see GPS speed on Google Maps, on iOS, like you do on Android.

But I accept this and still enjoys the benefits and other nice things about Apple.

The DJI app I use for my gimbal prefers iOS, they state themselves some features are not supported on Android. My drone's app works much better on iOS too.

So all I am saying is, one has to accept that nothing in life is perfect. With everything (and in this case, with every phone or operating system) there are gonna be some pro's and con's. You have to decide for yourself what features are more important to you.

On a more philosophical note, and I am not attacking anyone here, I feel we have become too dependent on technology. To state that a swipe up after face unlock, which takes half a second, negatively impact your experience, is interesting. What did we all do when a Nokia 6110 was THE phone to have? I understand and appreciate the fact that technology tries to improve the convenience factor, but hell have we all forgot how to wipe our own butts too?:ROFL:

Is this of any use?

Look at 3rd party Apple Watch apps that work with WhatsApp, to provide functionality that Facebook does not provide

For example
  • WatchChat
  • WristChat

Is this of any use?
I'm not sure about WristChat, but WatchChat doesn't notify you about anything, neither messages nor calls. It's only a way of checking or initiating Whatsapp chats from your Apple Watch.

I saw it mentioned on the Apple forums, so thought it might be of use, I don't use WA notifications on my Watch.
