Some whatsapp features are Android exclusive, some are iOS exclusive. It frustrates me that up to this day, whatsapp call notifications are not supported by my Apple Watch - I miss a lot of WhatsApp calls that way (not sure if it available on later versions of WatchOS, which I cannot use)
Also, it would have been cool to see GPS speed on Google Maps, on iOS, like you do on Android.
But I accept this and still enjoys the benefits and other nice things about Apple.
The DJI app I use for my gimbal prefers iOS, they state themselves some features are not supported on Android. My drone's app works much better on iOS too.
So all I am saying is, one has to accept that nothing in life is perfect. With everything (and in this case, with every phone or operating system) there are gonna be some pro's and con's. You have to decide for yourself what features are more important to you.
On a more philosophical note, and I am not attacking anyone here, I feel we have become too dependent on technology. To state that a swipe up after face unlock, which takes half a second, negatively impact your experience, is interesting. What did we all do when a Nokia 6110 was THE phone to have? I understand and appreciate the fact that technology tries to improve the convenience factor, but hell have we all forgot how to wipe our own butts too?
