Hi afrihost,

about the windows hosting: the gold package

I will like to know the following,

1) does it support MVC? up to?
2) ASP.net 4 or above? up to?
3) MSSQL support? or just MySQL? size of the db? no limit?
4) domain is only available for co.za? .com or others?

thanks

I'm not familiar with their Windows packages, but there is definitely support for any domain, even those not purchased through Afrihost.

Edit: MSSQL is supported from Gold Home onwards. Go to http://www.afrihost.com/site/product/windows_hosting and click on the view link next to all features to see how many databases are supported.

I want my money back.

I have no luck with afrihost up to now they said the site is still not available for upload.

I would say if you are looking for windows hosting, don't use afrihost. they even don't have "one click" installer for Microsoft, that is a big problem.

I would say, can I have my money back? I want to transfer the domain to hostking, may I?
afrihost please answers.

literally every single person on this forum and worldwide has said how crap Afrihost is with hosting.

Afrihost do windows hosting? As I know they only support linux platform. Have you try to reach their sales team? Or you can find other hosting provider in Europe or US. You can find many and better option. Like me, I host my site with European provider, it is hostforlife.eu. They offer windows hosting. So far so good and their pricing are also good.

Hi there

Hope I can address all of these for you

1) MVC - Yes, but libraries will have to be uploaded to the site and referenced locally
2) Up to .net 4.5
3) MySql and SQL, no limit on DB sizes
4) All domains are support

Hope that helps :)

We use a linux component purely for managing mails, as this is more stable (in our opinion) and easier to manage. All the web content is delivered via Windows platform, as well as DB storage.

I think that's a little unfair. The truth is Afrihost is one of the biggest hosting providers in the country, as in top 2 or 3. We definitely offer a great service. We may have some problems or complaints, from time to time, but so does every company. We do our absolute best to resolve every issue to their best of our ability :(

As for customer service, that could be MUCH improved. If I'm not mistaken, this is the number one complaint. Top of the list.
