I have not used Netflix before, but Hulu+ is da bomb. i like the clearity on everything. movies are good too.
For anyone still reading this thread..
You can subscribe to Hulu by creating a new U.S. Paypal account, then link it to a S.A. credit card. When it asks for your bank details, just click 'help' and then go 'back' and the question goes away
I've tried this method using a linked Entropay virtual card, but I'm not able to make payment.
And yes, I've specified my country as the US (I've also got an SA one).
Any ideas?

Sorry to sound like a noob on this (because I am), but how you are guys running this and how did you manage to set it up (with the US restrictions being imposed).
I've tried signing up to UnoTelly and used their advice to get a virtual credit card (Entropay) and then create a new US Paypal account and link this card.
Then, when signing up to Netflix/Hulu +, selecting the Paypal option.
This failed miserably... I'd still like to get on the bandwagon though. My pricing shows that if I take both Netflix and Hulu + ($7 each a month - hell, let's round them both off to $10 a month) then that comes to $20 (roughly R200). That would mean a saving of R500 a month. That's a lot of money.
Please let me know what you guys think? I could really use some help

I wouldn't touch Entropay.
Their cards don't work, I've linked it to a Paypal account and tried making payment.... No dice.
Plus - they are charging me $6 (plus their $1 fee when initiating the card) to withdraw all of my own money!!
Rubbish service - STAY AWAY.

Yeah stay away from Entropy. Also had issues with them and could not get it to work. I am trying to recover my $27.best and easiest service to use is the power seller guy. It's a bit more for the prepaid card, but once you subscribed to hulu then you can buy gift cards for 3,6 or for a year.
I also used buyfrompowerseller to get Hulu+ activated without any issues.

Thanks... So are you using a VPN service to run this to use as your *access* as such? (so that your source IP is comes from the US)
I came across something called Playmo TV, a bit like UnoTelly. Also costs $5 to sign up, and they recommend that you use a fake address generator to link to the card details from the card also bought from the power seller dude.

The ads on Hulu+ is ridiculous.
I've been watching the last 5 episodes of Season 5 of Fringe ... each episode is about 43 mins. They have 4 ad breaks, each ad break is at least 60 seconds long and each one have 3 ads.
Hulu also doesn't have many of the latest series (No Californication, Dexter, etc. Haven, Suits, etc. is only available on the web.)
Most of the series also doesn't have all the episodes or seasons. (Fringe only had the last 5 episodes of S5, No first season of Grimm or Once upon a time)

That's actually crap.... in that case I can download them for free. I'd just like to know I have something to watch.
Bit pointless paying for it then... do you recommend Netflix instead?

The video quality of the Hulu stream is definitely better than Netflix. Netflix has more than enough stuff for me to watch. They have complete series, not missing episodes and seasons. And NO ads.
Cool.. that's the type of thing I would expect though... Everyone else sings Hulu + praises.

I recommend both, since its dirt cheap for what you get. there are other means of getting so much more content to keep you busy using the roku. you won't miss dstv at all.

There's currently no alternative to Supersport. So I wont be cancelling DSTV anytime soon.

Ok... just to recap... if there any way that you or another kind hearted soul (when you find time) can post a dummy's guide to getting a Hulu/Netflix account?
So far, I have gathered the following requirements (please correct me if I am wrong):
1. Uncapped DSL connection - check
2. VPN service (Unotelly/Playmo.tv)
3. Mastercard vouchers from power seller dude (http://www.buyfrompowerseller.com/hulu-plus-outside-us/)
4. Register Mastercard vouchers on http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/ to ensure card is linked to a genuine US address
5. Use above card to make payment to Hulu/Netflix
On the streaming side, I would stream through my PS3.
I have gathered that you would need to install the Hulu/Netflix apps, but in order to do this you would need to create a US PlayStation Network account (I will get this done today to test).
Did I miss anything? If anyone is running it on a PS3, please let me know if this runs well.

Please let me know if I'm on the right track. I don't wanna spend another $25 on a botched attempt, kinda defeats the purpose.
BTW, the original thread suggests Media Hint browser add on, however I won't be streaming from my browser, but from my PS3. Are you guys using a VPN service?
I set this up on the weekend, it is really easy... and I'm not IT. You go to unotelly and you sign up for a free account, then follow the instructions.. .they basically involve finding the closest DNS cluster on a map page then putting that into your PS3's network settings. Then you go to netflix on your PC and you sign up for a trial account... use your SA credit card and fake an american zip code.
Test netflix on the PC to see if everything is hundreds... then do whatever it is you need to do to get neetflix on your PS3 and put in your login details.
I use the UnoTelly DNS addresses in my router ($4.95/month, no VPN). I just downloaded the Netflix app from a US PSN account then switched back to my regular account.
I had two HD streams going at once last night with no hassles (10mb Axxess uncapped), PS3 in the lounge and PC in the bedroom.

I use Entropay to pay for Unotelly and Netflix, even though both accepted my FNB credit card.
I pay Hulu+ with a US Paypal account. I couldn't link a SA credit card to the US paypal account 'cause I needed a US Social Security number. So I transferred money from my SA paypal account to my US paypal account and Hulu debits the US Paypal account. Else you can just buy pre-paid cards from buyfrompowerseller.com ... which probably works out cheaper.
