Access NETFLIX without paying for a VPN.

How... 1,2,3 add up to R200mp, you don't need XboxLive

DSTV is R700pm

I'm trying to figure why mine worked out as well... I think its possibly that I tried it while logged on to the UK site and it might have a different authentication process.

*Used Standardbank Mastercard.

I feel you boet. But you can't really include the cost of ADSL as you would be paying for that in any case on top of DSTV.

Awesome... I'm going to download Hulu+ and see if I can finish the process with a US Zip code and address. I did remember it moaned about it the last time though.

Not to nit-pick, but if you take Hulu+ from that Buy from Power Seller dude, then it's slightly more because they charge a $16 on a three month subscription.

All in all, still way cheaper than ADSL+DSTV.

1. Your fault not not getting a PS3. Its free there.
2. Why include ADSL? You should have that anyway with your DSTV.
 
Next question. To get an uncapped 4mb line is around R1k per month. What iare you guys using from a line speed point of view. Are you all running 4mb or what. I am seriously considering cancelling my dstv but don't want to sit with buffering issues.

Ye, sorry but I thought option 2 was hulu.

The thing is that you need internet anyway, if you have a PS3/Xbox without an internet connection then this is not the solution for you, perhaps stay with DSTV then.
If you need an XBL account then consider that that account is actually for playing games... so get it for that reason, use it for Netflix as well if you get it anyway.


The kind of internet connection you will need will cost you R500pm typically. The rest of the services will cost you R200 or less
DSTV will cost you R700pm, you get less selection, limited on demand, and you will still need an internet connection (most households do)

I think for most people its too expensive to have both... so if you HAVE to watch the sport then this solution is not for you.
 
Your R500/m is that just ISP or include Telskum aswell. What type of line speed are we looking at. 1mb uncapped, 2mb or say a 4mb capped at say 50gigs.

Are all you guys on uncapped?
 
You need to have an uncapped account or at least 200Gigs I would guess.
It can work with a 2Mbps line. I have 4Mbps.

Can you stream HD without buffering. I have been spoilt with the HD channels on DSTV.
What type of usage are you doing?

I have a 4mbps (speedtests usually between 3 and 3.8mbps) and I get quality that is comparable to DSTV without buffering. I'm guessing 720p. I haven't made exact usage calculations, but roughly 1GB to 1.5GB per hour on the high quality.

Hi, us postal codes are 5 digits long. i just added a zero to my 4 digit sa postal code and it worked, if it doesnt work for you just google any us towns postal code and use that.
 
I've found another DNS provider that offers a free service.
I havent tried it yet because I'm still on my 4 month UnoTelly free service.

I've got a 4mb line uncapped account, and it streams flawlessly...
I've been watching this "Netflix Exclusive" series, which is in "Super HD".
When I checked the output of the stream, it was playing in 1080p!

So yah.... no issues there.

Not sure what my usage is... don't really care with uncapped. As the other gents here have said, I doubt a capped account would make the cut.

Ok, managed to sign up on Hulu + using my SA credit card and a US ZIP.
However, whenever I try to stream anything, the loading icon freezes before it tells me to check my connection.

Anybody have any sort of issues like this?

I'm using Hulu+ on my PS3 with Playmo.tv. Netflix works without Playmo/Unotelly (not sure how)... but I actually signed up with Playmo so that I could get Hulu+ to work.... Still no dice.

Any help would be appreciated.
