Hi guys
I upgraded my adsl line to a 20meg vdsl yesterday but my line syncs at 12 meg and speed test only goes up to 10megs this is on adsl 2+ as I have not bought a vdsl modem as yet. any ideas how to solve the problem

ADSL 2+ on telkoms network sync at max 12... You need a vdsl modem.

Im on 20mbps ADSL2+ and syncing just fine.... no limiting factor using ADSL2+ on 20mbps line, ADSL2+ is great for anything up to 24mbps.

100% correct... adsl 2+ up to 20... the limiting factor could be the sync mode that the dslam is set to...must be set to adsl 2, and depends what dslam you are on make sure it is msan port to support vdsl mode if you are getting a vdsl modem, but 20 will work on and adsl 2+ modem.

20/1 Used to be the norm with me until a storm and all of a sudden I would sync with the exchange at 18/1 with a 8 point loss on my down/up SNR (Used to sync at 20mbit with 16/15 snr). Telkom tells me oh sorry you are 1.5km from exchange and we only guarentee 20mbit up to 1.3 anything else is best effort.

You should get 20Mbit up to ~2.5km
