ADSL Cap

Hi guys,
sorry for the newbie question but just got my ADSL line from Telkom working today and wanna know if they'll renew my cap on the 1st august or a month from today (26 august)?
Another question is where can one check how big your cap is? I know you can go to secure.telkomsa.net to check how much you've used but it doesnt say how much you can use...

I am not sure if it is in all cases, but the TelkomInternet username contains the cap size, i.e.

[email protected]

If there are dots in the username ie dsl.2gbsh.telkomsa.net, that indicates the cap, or you could just phone telkom and ask what your cap is.

How did you know the username and password? If it was mailed to you or on printed receipt, you could always refer to that.

Sound like a 1 gig int and 10 gig local.

Sounds like a non DO package, they usually include something like @dsl512telkomsa.net with a line speed.

So it really can carry any cap.

yep you're right, thanx...

only with zaportal it was like 3 gig int and 10 gig local... sad that things turned out the way they did, thought it was a good idea but like they say if it sounds too good to be true it probably is...

To find out how much cap you have left minus your used cap on the telkom site from your monthly cap.

does anyone know if theres a program that shows you how much cap you have left and graphs like the 3g vodacome internet. but for telkom?

got capped at 1 gig... got to 3.9 gb thanks to zaportal

My ADSL service has just been capped - all Rammstein's fault!

Now to 'klap' my 3G cap for a few hours!!!
