Dear Forum'ers

I need some assistance re ADSL modems. I have requested a line and now need to get a modem, which, for the most part, will be used for general browsing, emails (my server sits internationally), a bit of downloads (minimally) and for VOIP. The latter makes the second question to be posed relevant. Also, the only devices potentially to connect to the net is my own machine (laptop, wireless), my S80 cell, and maybe a VOIP handset later.

I have now identified (through reading these informative forums) and other pages, a number of modems which I think should offer value for money, performance and some years of years. These are:

Belkin Wireless G - http://www.expansys.co.za/d.aspx?i=156116
Linksys WRT54G2 - http://www.take2.co.za/electronics-linksys-wrt54g2-wireless-g-broadband-router-4719585.html
Siemens Gigaset SX763 - http://www.zaps.co.za/index.php?sm=yes&pid=9088
Siemens Gigaset SE568 - http://www.zaps.co.za/index.php?sm=yes&pid=11586

1)) The question as follows - which of these modems are better modems (with more functionality) and better lifespans?

2)) Which of the above noted modems would be able to assist me in using local bandwidth when accessing a local site and using international bandwidth when accessing a non-SA server? How do I do this? Is this possible with only a modem or do you need other hardware / purchased software? How efficient and comfortable / worth using, is it? IMPORTANT QUESTION as I intend to start using VOIP.

3)) What do I need to take into account when looking at the security protocols of modems in order to ensure that I have a secure connection? I am prepared to exclude my cell (S80 Symbian) for the sake of ensuring network security - using eg WPA (maybe WPA2).

Your assistance I would appreciate. I have now researched / read up a significant amount in order to determine the most appropriate (I think) modems / possibilities.
Also, I am a lay techie, so I know a fair amount, but networking protocols I am not very familiar with.
