ADSL prices continue to decrease

I must say, that looks like the most valuable piece of that article... even though I'd feel value more for something like "20GB, 80GB, 150GB" at the very least... but yeah :P

I agree, but of course like with most things in life, only time will tell...

I think Telkom is gonna give us a nice little surprise before the world cup and maybe even after the world cup too once EASSy comes online.

Wait and see it'll be till then.

Does this mean current packages will be increased or simply new packages will be offered?

Despite Telkom good things continue to happen. There is always hope ;)

It should be obvious that all these ISP's charging so little for bandwidth are contesting their users heavily. ICASA should regulate this, it is understandable that quality of service can never be guaranteed when it comes to bandwidth, but consciously throttling your own userbase in order to squeeze more into the same package is just unethical, plain and simple.

ICASA cannot regulate *****. I have been with afrihost for a few months now and cannot complain about speed or quality of service.

I would like to see more uncapped packages or big caps like 100Gb + for reasonable prices like R200 pm etc

Axxess has not dropped by a cent, same prices from a year before the Seacon cable was installed, so prices havent moved at all!

I cannot understand why people stick with a "expensive" ISP if you can join a no-nonsence, cheap, no strings attached Afrihost.

Knowing Telkom, I am sure they will be different bundles, just priced higher. Can we expect any more from them?

I foresee better bundles at the same prices. Unless they can prove that their cost to provide service has increased, which it has not, then they cannot slip this past ICASA.

We are probably in for a double decrease (or increase in cap, etc) from Telkom this year. One now in March/April and then another in July/August. The latter will be interesting as it will be post-SWC and plenty of local fibre capacity will be released (remember Telkom are reserving dedicated 40Gb links between all the stadia for FIFA!).

Interesting times!

No uncapped 4mb for R500
Come on

To be honest, if there was a 4mb uncapped un-throttled for under 1k, i'd take it.

the axxess-express is nice, but the throttling during business hours sucks a little
