ADSL Stellenbosch issues!

TelkomZA (TL) you guys are absolute stars!

I have never ever had my line running this smoothly! Thank you so much! :)

Telkom moved me on the DSLAM on Sunday and things are looking good. They also came to check out my line and sorted some other noise issue with it - great stuff :)

Seems like one of the DSLAMs are faulty, because my line has been rock solid since they moved me to a different DSLAM/exchange more than a month ago.

Hey guys. Is this something that can be done in any area of Stellenbosch? I'm located in Stellenbosch Central and my ADSL is horrendous...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Boquito17:
I reckon if you complain enough and keep on escalating it you may get yourself moved to another DSLAM too.

First just ensure that its not your ADSL line's fault - like when you're too far to stay connected or even sync at 4Mbps.

Hi Pada thanks for the reply.

I'm pretty sure I'm also having the same congestion issues. At times (not lately) the speed has been that of a normal 4Mbps (3.4 down, 0.6 up, 20ms). At night and on weekends it becomes a hopeless monster.

Thanks. I will carry on pestering them. Just popped into the store actually: lady told me there is nothing she can do and I must call the call centre... yay.

Thanks though!

Boquito - try contact Telkom on Facebook and via PM here. The guys are very helpful and sorted me out after a small delay. The problem crops up every few months for me and so far they've fixed it every time.

Yup, my congestion is back. It starts out fine in the morning and then as the day progresses it gets slower and slower.

I think every time they move someone to a new DSLAM, they move another customer to the broken one.

I wouldn't be surprised...

My colleague has just informed me that Telkom Socal Media contacted him and said that there are major issues at the exchange that he is on and they'll try to move him to a different one and then he'll be able to get 10Mbps too.
Like he said he had about 30% packet loss over the weekend.

Ever since my line has been moved to a different exchange in Stellenbosch I haven't had any ADSL issues either.

Super slow speeds and huge latency in Jamestown. MWEB 4Mbps uncapped, been like this the whole evening:(

Same here, has been this way the whole day for me. I think they worked on the lines this morning because my line was dead for about 2 hours between 9 and 11am. Telkom probably just screwed up as usual without even knowing it.

More than half an hour with telkom on the phone, port recreated, the lady just want to run speed tests. And internet is just getting better and better lol.

Dinge gaan leker opi bos!!

Anybody else having issues or suggestions? Guess I have to ask for a technician to come and sort this out.

Something is definitely very broken. My internet was down yesterday morning and ever since it came back up I've had goddawful speeds and insane latencies. 400ms to Cape Town servers. :/

Yeah, I've also noticed our ADSL being very ****ty since maybe yesterday. ~400ms to local servers and barely 1mbit downstream speeds, tested with various different ISP accounts.

Stellenbosch Webersvallei exchange, 880.

Online gaming has been impossible for me lately. Guess I was moved to the congested exchange/DSLAM. Download speeds are perfect, though.

Sigh.

Live close to tollies and catwalk my internet seems fine running afrihost. Hower had a few issues with telkom.
