ADSL Telkom + FNB Connect

I am in desperate need for your help.
I have a B683 Router that I used with a Vodacom SIM.
That contract has expired and I now want to use the router on my Telkom ADSL line.
I managed to set up the Telkom profile under the Dial-Up tab, but when I go to Quick setup, the Profile Name stays on Vodacom and it is grey, so I am unable to change it.

I've already done that. That is asked during the profile setup.
But when I want to configure the settings the Telkom profile does not show, only the Vodacom in grey.
We've called Vodacom and they confirmed that if the router was purchased on a Vodacom contract, it will no longer work once the contract has expired.
I read somewhere it is not legal in SA to lock a network to a device. So why do they do it with the router, especially once the contract has been fully paid, then the device is suppose to be your property.
