What was the purpose of this artcle?![]()
I am sorry but that was a seriously irritating article. :/
On the contrary, the article was very badly written. I have great respect for people who communicate in their second language, but this was not a forum post, it was an official article on a respected website. As such, the author should at a minimum get someone to proofread and take out the glaringly bad grammar and incorrect word useage ("crowing for" instead of "clamouring for"; "clamouring over themselves" instead of "falling over themselves"; "the most hardcore among us is", etc.).Well written article, but lacking substance.
And it’s because we, as the South African internet consumer, are a very tough bunch to please
As for the speed, well 384K is still a darn sight faster than dial-up!
Erm....how much of the article was about unbundling?????
Sometimes, you can understand the position of the internet providers in SA. Sometimes, you can even feel quite sorry for them in fact. And it’s because we, as the South African internet consumer, are a very tough bunch to please.
You have a point there--I never looked it that way. What this will open up to is Price Fixing, like we are used to so far with other products. ***'ed if you do and ***'ed if you don't.Unbundling won't be as good as you think it is.. Once unbundled, you will end up having to be in a 1 year plus contract with your provider. As it is now, you can change your provider every 10 minutes as long as you have an account somewhere else. Imagine a cell phone that is network locked, you can't slap in another provider's SIM card and call. It will be the same thing.
