I can... At first I couldn't, but now I can... That video at Bonneville changed my mind. It's perfect.
I think it's a great car, but I would never buy a Mercedes. They have the worst customer service of any luxury car brand in this country.
Just wondering. This ( customer service) is based on fact or on perception.
I don't own a merc. But have been considering.
Perception of course. But it's a perception formed from a lot of negative feedback. I've personally witnessed the atrocious service twice, their telephonic service is the worst, my step-dad experienced it, but uncle has a never ending series of negative stories thanks to his problematic 2008 C-Class, I have friends who have sworn to never touch Mercedes again etc. I don't think I know a person who has had dealings with Mercedes that didn't endure a negative experience.
Contrast that with Land Rover, VW, Audi, Volvo, BMW etc. and I know who isn't getting my money.
I'm talking brand new of course. I'm sure there are great secondhand dealerships.

All these dealerships incl BMW have pathetic service. They book 100 cars per day and certainly cannot do a good job.
Instill fear in your dealership. Worked for me. I had Opel's for many years so tended to go to same dealership year after year. If I had an issue, I would complain. If ignored, I would simply complain very loudly in front of a dozen or so customers sitting in reception waiting to pick up their cars, and then demand to see a manager. If that manager didn't help, I would just demand, even louder, to see the manager of the manager. And so on. After a while they know you very well as being an a-hole of a customer - but they do not stuff you around afterwards.
Be careful they may spit in your car afterwards.
Saliva is irrelevant - a functioning car without paying through your ass is more important. I also give credit for good service; and give positive feedback accordingly. I believe in both the carrot and the stick.

I meant it figuratively![]()
Hehe. Yes. Look, should they do anything strange, it would just mean I am back there again; and in an even worse frame of mind. Which I doubt they would want...
Look, I don't mean I go in there spitting fire. I just find that standing up for your rights is the right thing to do. Although it does sometimes mean you have to escalate up the chain of command.
Problem is that these dealerships make most of their money on service and repairs rather than car sales.
If you have a maintenance plan they don't mind you coming there everyday as long as they have a legitimate claim with the manufacturer.
Problem is that when they don't get it right the first time, it's the inconvenience of going back there.
True. But then again, if you are a painful customer that makes their displeasure known very vocally then they do not want you back. And I would use their stuff-ups as a reason to get decent lift to and from work.
But having said that, do you not experience the follow up calls asking as to how your experience was? These things feature hugely in many dealership's lives these days.
The F-type is definitely a mean machine and a worthy/better contender but as my wife said. .."The jag was not your childhood dream car ".
Now my 7 year old dreams of a Ferrari!
