Anyone else having connecting issues. Router does not sync. This is so frustrating.

They could have had the courtesy to open their support lines early for today only, seeing they moving ADSL providers.

Now I am stuck!

Well done Gian

Sitting remotely. So cant see if it is syncing or not. But i can definitely not auth. So their redius servers are stuffed :/

Yup, radius not responding for me either.

Also no Auth on my uncapped account.
On hold to them - was caller 9 initially, now caller 6 in queue.

Afrihost, just post updates for us on Twitter and here please, let us know what's going on.
We understand that there will be issues, just update us.
If not up by 7am please roll back!

Why start a whole new thread about this...there is both a Afrihost Capped and Uncapped thread already running!!!

Down for me too

Hope Afirhost decides to re-reimburse us for the downtime if it lasts longer than a day.

So we can blame telkom. They have not allocated enough ip's on the network. So somebody auths, and there is no ip. So connection retries

Because this thread isn't 130 pages big, also people with connection issues today will gravitate to a topic like this one (like I did)

This is a specific issue related their move today - valid reason for a new thread!

Spoke to support - got told to change my login details slightly and it authenticates, so ythe problem appears to be the afrihost.co.za realm, Telkom is apparently working on it.

Come on Afrihost give us status updates regularly until fixed!

This morning we began our ADSL migration to our new network and unfortunately the migration was not 100% successful.

The problem is being attended to with the highest priority and we will notify you once it has been resolved.

If you are having trouble connecting to the Internet, please change your ADSL username in your router or modem as illustrated in the example below.

Regular username: [email protected]
New username: [email protected]
Please note that your password will remain the same.

Once we have resolved the problem we will notify you.

Please accept our sincere apologies for all inconveniences.

I know there might be teething issues but this is just freeking ridiculous.

Playing around with a live environment.

Where MTN puts their finger, they sure break it. Please just roll me back to IS.

Mine is working but I am being routed through Johannesburg instead of the usual Cape Town.

My ping to CT is now higher than to J'Burg.

My international pings are also higher.

Problems with a migration of this magnitude should have been anticipated, and this move should have happened over a weekend :wtf: why have you abandoned me Afrihosttt :p

The issue relates to the way Telkom allocates IPs on their ADSL network from the pool provided by MTN. They examine the demand on a particular router and if a pool is exhausted they allocate another /26 (64 IPs) to the region. Unfortunately this check/provisioning only runs every hour and it only allocates +-2000 new IPs on every run.

Just keep trying to re-connect. As your region is allocated sufficient IP addresses your account will authenticate.

Tried now on my original account @afrihost.co.za and it is now working fine
