I recently upgraded my contract and I feel that despite using my Afrihost APN, my Mtn allocated data is being used up.
I didn't do a sim swop.

How can I check on this?

Also my new contract allocates 500mb free so how do I consume that first before the Afrihost data?

As a side note I have a dual sim. Can that consume the MTN data? Is the data shared with the primary sim.

Did you get AH data allocated to your MTN contract?

You can use either the MTN apn or the Afrihost apn, whichever is being used will get data deducted from it. If you're on IOS you will need to manually switch over, on Android there might be a tasker or something that can do that for you.

Install the mtn app on your phone and check your usage there to see when it goes down.

Yes I linked the AH to my MTN contract sim but despite using the AH APN my MTN data was depleted.
A response from afriman/guy will be appreciated.

We have seen that upgrades on contracts can affect APN access and we sometimes need to re-provision the numbers. I've got your PM and I'll resubmit on my side (if you haven't connected on our system)

I noticed that MMS message's don't download when using the Afrihost APN. Anyone else have this problem?

I also am unable to get MMS anymore. I have phoned MTN numerous times and still nothing. I have also switched from AH apn to MTN and still MMS don't work. Everything was fine until I got AH mobile data.

I get the message but it doesn't download. switching back to MTN's default APN and then downloading the message works for me.

Under my apn settings, I changed the APN type to : 'default, hipri' and then I can download mms' as well.

What device? There is normally an APN for data and one for hotspot/tethering you need to set.

Let me try this. Do I need to keep the ' ' before and after?

Found it on my iPhone.
Still doesn't explain why my MTN data is zero despite using Afrihost as APN.

No, not needed. Just added it to show/group what needs to be put in.

Would help if Afrihost actually gave the people this code so their mms's actually work. My wife just found uot her phone also stoped working on Afrihost apn. thanx for the code hers is working now. I hevnt gotten a mms yet so cannot confirm my side yet.

Don't think they knew about this. Had to google it a bit to find a solution.

On my iPhone the MMS APN is set as mymtn and it works though I hardly use MMS
There is no option for APN "type" on iOS
