So i use my free 1GB for backups...like tonight...when Saix is giving me problems...
So i login to see why the account is not working...the data is gone...oops...i left it on and drained the data with my automated downloads.

1.5GB overused...
mmmm this is funny....with a notice saying that the data I overused will be deducted off every topup I do or they will deduct it from next month's allowance...

WTF....????

Anyone know about this...
 
yeah if you did the time then pay the dime and move on with it.
 
Happened to me as well. Their capping system takes a while to cut you off and then they transfer the over usage to next month. It's a free account though.
 
Sometimes its great that it doesn't cut off at exactly 1GB, and other times (like these) you would prefer to let it cut off at exactly 1GB.

Since its a 1GB FREE account, you really can't complain about it now, can you ;)
 
i remember ppl moaning about it when they first launched. back when they charged around r49 a gig that one month the capper didn't work at all and some folks went ape (like everyone did with telkom) pulling over 50GB. only to crap all over the cot when they were told they'll be capped at zero for the next 50 months or bought enough topups
 
1) You pay for what you use, unless you're criminal :P
2) Afrihost seem to refresh their stats hourly or so. I've had the same experience on a prepaid account.

I don't care paying...I always top up this account.
Just because their technology is not working why must i pay for it?
I'm not a kid anymore who checks his balance every few seconds.

I've been using Afrihost's p/p ADSL for months and it's awesome value for money.

Did they state upfront that your account would stop once the cap is reached? It seems as if you're holding them responsible for your negligence. Wow.

I'd like to see where they state this upfront hey?

The point remains that you used more bandwidth than you paid for.

the point remains that they will not see cash from me in two months...as opposed to me buying a few gigs this month :)

just bought 20GB for 1R (ok so they will see R1 from me in the next two months) lol 10GB pro rated...

Been that way for ages now... and was well publicised on this forum.
It also happened to me once or twice that I went over.
But I never saw the point to whine over it since it was me that used the data.

If you choose not to use them anymore that's only your loss and everybody's else's win! :D

They explained this a couple of times already. Even gave worked through examples in their emails. That is how their system is designed & implemented.
