Its very intermittent. It will run fine for about an hour or two then just comes to a screeching halt.

It lasts for about 15 minutes then becomes normal again.

During this time notnign works. Cant browse, remote desktop ftp etc.
I have even tried the above on ip address and that doest work either.... so doesnt seem to be dns related.

If you're with Critical Care it's always best to communicate directly with them.

Getting a response every 2 weeks is not good enough. Thats why i am here.

Dont know if this helps but when this happens i am also unable to access our servers hosted with afrihost on an alternate connection. Seems like the problem is bigger than just DSL

I think it's best you have this info passed onto our Critical Care team. I'd like to follow up on where the query is in terms of progress, but I'll need you to PM me a ref#.

Youtube for me has taken a turn for the worst, can't stream 720p videos, just keeps buffering....will PM you my details Afriguy but I am really getting tired of this shoddy service you guys are dishing out.....

EDIT - EVERYTHING is slow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AfriGuy Is something going one with International traffic? Specifically YouTube? Seems to be our old friend YouTube streaming issues that is back.
I cannot get an good throughput while doing streaming, but Speed Tests are fine. It looks like it's limited to 1Mbps.

Not going to bother with logging a call, because they don't listen to the feedback in the tickets. Also last time stabilized my line for no reason. Took my hours to realize that support messed it up further.

We have seen reports in and around CPT, seems to be Telkom related - the details are still a bit sketchy at the moment though. It was reported on MyBB earlier today/ last night.

Yes I've heard about the issues. Just strange that the Telkom account itself is fine, but Afrihost not. Both should suffer in theory?

They should do. Did you run the test with the Telkom guest account?

I am disappointed with the functioning of my ADSL account, I can either stream at 144p or 480p, everything else just continuously buffers.....

Pretty weird. I'm assuming you mean YouTube here. Are you getting good general throughput on your account? Is latency normal on traceroutes?
