Play Store apps updating incredibly slowly...

I called about 3 PM this afternoon to report the youtube problem. I'm on a 20 meg VDSL connection, and 480p youtube video's is buffering. I also updated my android apps tonight, and it was painfully slow. Something is not right here Afrihost....Better get the specialists in, as a 7 hour turnaround, from when I asked to log the youtube buffering issue, without a fix, cannot be 'OK'?

"I understand your frustration, but this is not affecting all of our users, and our Team will have this sorted very soon."

AfriGenie.

There's that word again, "soon"......

Yes, soon, denial amongst South African companies is laughable, just like Eskom, there is no crisis, just the whole country has load shedding. Same applies to Afrihost, no issues, send tests, and soon it will be fine, joke.

Disconnect-fest still over here. Telkom is apparently the hold-up now. So who do I speak to to light some fire under them?

Not even attempting to download files bigger than 30MB, as it bombs out before then.

PM TelkomZA for assistance.

What's more frustrating is that this was supposedly fixed a while ago, but keeps on coming back. So somehow the fixes does not stick.

This specific streaming lag with Youtube is a new one for us, our Team is hard at work with it, and you should see an improvement very soon.

I rarely have issues with my line but today P2P and webpage loading are dead slow, im getting 30KB/s on P2P.

Tracert is very good though.

Afri* has this YouTube issue been fixed? Your site says all is happiness with DSL, but I'm still having the same YouTube problems. Stuck at 300Kbps while streaming.

Just confirmed on twitter that Afrihost 'thinks' the problem is resolved. It's clearly not. I'm having terrible youtube experience.I just reminded them that it's not.

Can you guys please send me your ADSL usernames, we then definitely need to have a look at why our system things everything is okay when it clearly isn't.

AfriGenie. I've sent it on twitter.

When I download a file, I get full line speed on my 20meg VDSL business uncapped account, but when I try to watch a youtube video, it buffers. Clearly a problem on your side.

Youtube seemed to be back to normal late last night, but it's back to being useless at the moment.

Youtube is still borked. I can manage about 400kbps on a 4Mbps line and it defaults to 240p, though some will play at 360p.

Glad to see the network status page says that everything is sunshine and roses.

I'm going out to lunch...

Youtube streaming sucks here as well. Not sure what's going on. It also took me around 30 seconds to share a link on Google+.

Thank you for the update guys, we are quickly making a different set of changes on our side now. Can you test over the next hour and see if there is any change.

been streaming for about half an hour now, and nope, not any better, defaults to 144p and everything else buffers.....
