Apologies, I just needed to refresh my Inbox.

It looks like your Exchange is down at the moment, I'm checking with Telkom if this is because of a network issue or load shedding.

Thanks for checking, one last thing I need to ask, how is the latency at the moment?

General Browsing should never be an issue, which DNS Servers is your modem defaulting to?

Ping is sitting around 45ms on local speed test, international 200ms plus. These are FAR greater than they have ever been. We use OpenDNS, and we always have since we joined Afrihost years ago.

Serious Telkom issues in the Cape.

All ISP accounts tested (except Telkom account) have ridiculously high pings/latency. Torrents are slow as hell, and HTTP is even worse. HTTPS is almost non-existent... I can sign in to my VPS in the US, but downloading backups via FileZilla are 10% of what they are normally (usually full speed). I also am getting random disconnects on 3 different sites, not to mention all the authentication errors.

I find it really hard to believe that everyone in the country is on congested exchanges.... Who can I "nail" for this hehehe :twisted:

With which ISPs did you test specifically? I want to see if I can correlate this from my side as well.

I think we've actually located the issue finally! We're just waiting for feedback from MTN Business with regards to how quickly and feasible the fix will be.

Aaah, gotta love South African efficiency these days ..... :(

And when the internet works, the power goes off .... and when both work, some vagrant steals my computer.

Our Critical Care Team thinks it may be a defective router at the Exchange, or at least one that is starting to break down, MTN Business should have feedback for us in a few hours.
