I know we had some issues earlier this morning, could you try clearing your cache or using another browser?
Do you have other tests around your poor connection?

I am having the same issue at work even after clearing cache:

We've offered something similar in the past, but I think it's only realistically going to be considered once we've got the network to where we want it - that's the top priority.

Got a credit once, and that was after I kicked up a real fuss, not the way it should be. Your network issues are concerning, and the time it takes to resolve is also a worry.

I can understand the concern, but we're focusing 110% of our technical resources into getting the network rocking again. If we had to start looking at compensation now it would only slow down a whole stack of processes.

and then your management team should do the right thing, and offer discounts to users who are paying for a substandard service, and who have been loyal and have stayed with your company. It seems loyalty is not appreciated, maybe when you have no subscribers, management will wake up?

+1

I think this will be a side affect of the higher latency :(
Is your streaming constantly poor or does it go OK and then better?
I just tested a bit with task manager open while watching Youtube, set to monitor the ethernet adapter in the performance tab. Less popular videos seldom used more than 3Mbps and buffered a lot. Videos from popular channels used full line speed.

I assume this is because less popular videos aren't cached on every continent. Does this mean Afrihost is having international issues?

What's your stats for nerds like on YouTube itself?
Caching shouldn't be slow, Google CDNs are running well :)

Since this morning, my line will be fine and then an hour or so later the speed will drop down to 50kbs (2meg line), I then have to reboot router and then the speed is fine again untill about an hour later and speed will have crashed again. This pattern has repeated itself throughout the day
I've had to restart my router 6 times already.
Would anyone know what the reason for this is ?

That sounds suspiciously like it could be the line or possibly even the modem. Are you seeing any increases in latency? Or is it just the speeds?

Just the speeds, its very odd and the only way to get my speed back to normal is a reboot.
ping is 11ms which is normal.

Could you send me a PM with your ADSL line number please, let me have a look.
