AfriMan, I know I sound like a stuck record, but I am begging you! Please could you get someone to look into Bonded DSL services.
It is something I really need, I am looking into Mweb and IS bonded services but they are way way over priced.....
:D

I'm not sure if this is something that we'll be actively looking into :( I think VDSL, even FTTH will be a much more cost effective solution.

Can't PM you Afriman but are you'll still having overload issues?

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3821824526

This is my latest speed on my 6mb line, pretty much the same as yesterday all day. How long is this going to continue?

I'll drop AfriMan a line, get him to clear the inbox :)
Issues are still there I'm afraid, not much longer now though! Upgrades should be live in a next few weeks.

The problem is, us in rural area's with 10meg lines will not see VDSL or FTTH for many years!
I really do not want to leave Afrihost, But if Afrihost does not meet my needs anymore I am forced to leave.
Which is sad, but a fact

I know that performance has been less than what we've come to expect in the last few weeks and we fully acknowledge that we've struggled to meet with current demand with our available resources on the network.

Our Technical Director has been focussed solely on improving our clients experience today while he negotiated additional capacity with MTN and Telkom, which he has confirmed has now been approved. I don't have any confirmed or rough dates for the upgrade, but I have been told that we're pushing for a fast resolution. As soon as I have a confirmed date.

We couldn't confirm capacity upgrades prior to this as this was still under negotiation, but now that the process is underway, we can confirm that the network will be upgraded.

Dude, it has not been a couple of weeks, this problem has been on going for SEVERAL weeks. My previous post was deleted because I got very verbal and attacked you personally! You guys should have been honest with us from the beginning but you were not.

I have to keep deleting messages that I start typing because I find myself getting very personal!

I do not feel that your business eithic (Afrihost not Afriguy) has been very ethical. The problems experienced has been more painful than sitting in a dentists chair!

We should hopefully see the upgrades go live within the next few weeks. I don't have a confirmed or rough date at the moment, but I will update when I have that info.

:):) The omens are good ... Freya the god of fertility is smiling on capacity.
(And my wife is away for the weekend, so the party's at my house).

We've been as open and honest as we possibly can, providing the info that was on the table. It's always a tough situation, but some info simply cannot be posted if nothing has been confirmed as yet.

So for the next few weeks we should expect these slow speeds all day?

Next few months not weeks. And yes. :D

P.S. Please remember subscription amounts are still to be paid in full on or before the 1st. Thank you for your business.

:D

VOX also offer bonded ADSL.

I too would be interested in bonded lines!

Afrihost could make a fortune with this service....

Just to put it in prospective.

Mweb Bonded Pricing
Unshaped, Uncapped, includes 5 Static IP's with a Cisco 2811 Router

2X 10meg Lines (20mbps) = R10,999-00 Per Month
3X 10meg Lines (30mbps) = R14,999-00 Per Month

Internet Solutions Bonded Pricing
Unshaped, Uncapped, includes 5 Static IP's with a Cisco 2811 Router

2X 10meg Lines (20mbps) = R7,800-00 Per Month
4X 10meg Lines (40mbps) = R17,800-00 Per Month

I mean, If Afrihost can sell Business 40meg VDSL accounts for R2979 per Month,
Surely Afrihost can give us something like this? (this is what I am willing to pay per month)
Unshaped, Uncapped, 5 Static IP's and a Router
2X 10meg Lines (20mbps) = R3,500-00 to R4,500-00
4X 10meg Lines (40mbps) = R5,500-00 to R6,500-00

Thank you, It is not that difficult to setup up, I have done it with a VPS and Zeroshell it works amazingly, But no VPS allows torrents so it is no go for me....

I'm afraid so, speeds may vary - but it's definitely not permanent.

So considering that you'll are aware of this problem and how long it's going to fix and how it's going to affect your clients. Wouldn't a discount for the monthly fee be the correct, logical thing to do? Because you'll know you'll won't be able to provide the exact service your client is paying for.

This has been ongoing for a few weeks, we're actively working on a permanent fix.
As AfriMan confirmed earlier in the thread, upgrades are on the way in a few weeks. I'm afraid I can't action/ authorise compensation as this is something that needs to come from Management.

I do not think that is the correct answer to the question he asked?
