Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback - 2

While I understand that you're frustrated with the slow speeds, I'd like to have feedback passed onto our teams wherever possible. We are seeing some improvements, I think this thread reflects that.

When using the Telkom guest account, please browse to http://www.saix.net/ and click the speedtest icon.

Frustrated? It went passed frustrating a loooooong time ago.

I tried that, it does not allow me to go onto the site.
There is a connection (ADSL light on router goes green, router shows there is a connection), but there is no throughput at all on anything. The line is deader than most cabinet ministers' thought processes when using the Telkom guest account login details.

AH account login on SAIX Speedtest:

Drop me a PM with the game titles you're playing.
I know we've recently made some tweaks which have seen some improvements for Destiny.

I'm playing Diablo 3. Have given Afriman pathpings and the like previously and there doesn't seem to be a resolution. D3 shouldn't be affected by how the new games are misidentified.

We don't, as in we don't limit or throttle protocols to give way to others, however contention on the network may affect some services differently to others :(

Do you honestly think that this statement would hold any form of truth or substance if submitted to ISPA for scrutiny?

What line speed do you have with us? The throughput, even for a 2Mbps line isn't great.
If this reflects on both account it can indicate an issue outside of our network. I know you had a line fault before, not sure if it's creeping back in again.

Cool beans, I'll follow this up with him :)

10MB line but it is synced at 6MB due to distance from exchange. It was running perfectly for a while and running at a constant 5 to 5.5MB with no issues except the usual Youtube buffering at 480p.

If it's running at the results you're seeing on the guest account something isn't right.
Drop me a PM with your line number and I can have some line tests done.

Something in the Cape must be broken.

Looks like the high latency is causing the issue here, can't seem to replicate though.
Do you have a traceroute that you can post?

The speed test on Mybroadband keeps giving 100ms+ results.

There is no shaping on the business accounts. :D

Really? Doesn't feel like it. I'm fine with them shaping anyway as long as it returns back to normal sooner than later, but I don't want to sit around shaped while other people are getting proper speeds

Very strange, looks OK from here.
Do you see this latency reflected in game too?

Things were good (acceptable) until yesterday evening when it became terrible, it's improved slightly today but still sitting around 1meg speeds.
