@Afridisting ....

Ofentse has sent me a mail and claims that

I have received confirmation today from our technical director that upgrades have been approved and the process is in motion. I don't have a confirmed ETA for when the new capacity will go live, but as soon as I have any rough dates I will update.

I am in the East region - have the upgrades not been done there?

Thanks

@Afriman
I have decided to pause my service.
I see that the affected dates are between 01-30November,
Is there any way I can change the pause to 01Nov-31Dec ?
Or do i have to cancel the pause, and re-pick the option to pause longer.

Youtube is shocking.

This is my business account...

Same Video 2 minutes apart.

Is this what I should expect? Like, is this normal for now or am I being affected a little differently?

Edit: I don't want to leave again. Its a mission. I just want to know when it will be sorted.
Luckily I have another account that works but I just want to know when it will be sorted.
I think we can all agree that when it works it works well but this is getting a bit ridiculous now.

Hopefully we'll see the full national network upgraded within the month, as per Greg Payne's statement, but it really depends on Telkom. I appreciate your patience with this, can see from your results it's a headache for you :(

Been completely dead since just after 8pm.
No connection at all.

Hopefully Hellscum is doing the IPC thing.

From reading your other posts, I think this is on your line. There were no outages in your area during that time that I am aware of and we had no general network issues.

I am seeing the same with plenty packet loss. upgraded IPC sucks

This is very strange because the East network has been performing generally well and we've seen pretty much zero complaints in general.

Have we done full troubleshooting to eliminate any other possibilities?

Afriman,

Do you perhaps know when the South IPC will be up ?

I don't have an exact date - believe me, I really wish I did.

From past experience, we only sometime find out as Telkom arrive at the DC, and sometimes only afterwards, so it could literally be any day now.

Telkom guest login on the router showed 5.6MB on the saix.net Speedtest, so, no, it was not my line.....

For me, streaming has always been **** on Afrihost, even when there are no network issues. Then I switch over to a WebAfrica free account, and all streaming issues are resolved.

I get the feeling this will never get sorted.

We've seen that during the most recent Telkom outage in JHB/PTA that people could log into the Guest account but not any ISP account, and Telkom acknowledged their network was down. I don't know the full working of how they authenticate the guest account, but I don't think it's always 100% reliable.

I think once you've paused you can't edit the date range unless you unpause. Maybe drop me a PM so we can check it out. If you're not in the pause period though, it shouldn't affect your billing to remove the pause and create he new period.

But PM if you're not sure :)

Streaming is definitely a priority for us and something we test fairly often to benchmark network performance. However, we test the most common services like YouTube, Simfy, etc for audio and video streaming. There are now lots of different services available (and more on the way) so we need to troubleshoot performance on a case by case basis to improve each service where we can.
