Hi Afri* I was on regular AH Home uncapped during Dec and had terrible performance on the line due to issues with capacity and shaping on the network (I'm in Jhb north). I use my line for downloads and mostly streaming. My current ISP performed better that the AH home uncapped but it still can't stream sub-HD quality without significant buffering time. Therefore I'm thinking of going onto the AH business uncapped service but to be honest, I'm not sure if int will work for me and I don't want to go through the whole switching process again if it doesn't work out. Would it be possible to creat a business uncapped test account so that I can give it a shot?

Business is the same as Capped - so you could take out a free 1GB capped account :) However, new capacity has arrived and there is almost no shaping present at all, so why dont you try home-uncapped again?

I Have random speed problems sins yesterday

It seems like you have an intermittent connection issue. Those highlighted pings should be under 30ms. This is probably due to exchange issues, but could also be a router issue. Could you try turning off your firewall and re-running the test :)

Tired of wasting time and stuffing around with settings...so not going to home uncapped again. Also Zertop, for whatever reason last year when switching between uncapped (during unshaped times) and the 1gb capped, my line performance was different.

It's not in my head and it was definitely not on par. Sooo... The short of it is that I want a 'real' uncapped test account to ensure that I know what I'm getting.

Hmm strange? Only thing different is the contention. (Were you switching between business and capped or home and capped?). Oh well - Afriman could possibly but I'm not sure. (I doubt it)

Between home uncapped and capped.

Business uncapped and capped are identical, but home and capped are not. This is because of contention ratios (should be somewhere on Google :P). If capped works for you, business will too!

Look at my other test I'm running ping increase on the 3 hop
I'm on osx no firewall running the problem is not my modem

Well, I have a healthy line.

Can somebody here please post an AH test result that doesn't have timeouts because I haven't seen one?
I can't even run the AH network test. Avira detects a virus. I have run multiple virus scan with Avira, MalwareBytes and the Microsoft one and not picking up anything, till I run the app.

I've added it to Avira exclusion list no too scan, still it does not open and a bit later Avira would detect some .tmp files as a virus.

Maybe it's because the app is trying to connect to the internet to ping and tracert?

Time to try another antivirus?

I use Eset Nod32.

Afriman will be very pleased to know the line is still going nicely. Except for the Matrix glitch earlier and a few random disconnects during the past week (Telkom was working on the lines or something in the area), it has been going well.

I've seen a few, but we are going to look at increasing the TTL in the next version to make sure this is not an issue in the app

Got your PM - have also replied :)

Not really contention ratios - it's mostly shaped vs unshaped. Also, Uncapped has a built in QoS for best experience, were capped does not. The idea is that realtime experience on Business and Uncapped should be the same :)

I use Eset Nod32.

ESET is very good. It's very light on your system so doesn't usually interfere with other applications.

Yeah the app does need to the internet so if your settings are pretty strict, you can run into some problems.
