Very strange you're having issues opening the page, are you seeing this with other sites too?
Yes I did.
It is better now, but still not great.
It is not limited to AH though.
I have tested with other accounts as well with same results.
It is going better atm, but not much better.
Not sure what is going on, as the trace routes looks okay.

Will see how it goes tomorrow.

My issues don't seem tied to Afrihost. Just loaded up my free 1GB Web Africa capped account and international is still unusable. God damnit.

Keep us updated :(

Sorry to hear that. What tests have you run on your line?

Can't run any tests. Not even pings or trace routes. A tiny selection of local websites work some of the time, and there's no international at all. Rebooted a million times at this point. I vaguely recall a similar issue a few months ago, so I'm hoping this time will correct itself after a few hours too. Otherwise I'll have to log a fault. Web Africa capped account is no better.

Sounds like it's a local DNS issue on the Telkom network not forwarding requests properly. Do you know anyone in the neighbourhood who can confirm they are experiencing the same issues?

You may also want to try updating your router's firmware - sometimes see things like this. Have you tested different routers as well?

No point checking because things seem to be working now. Will follow your advice if it happens again.

Local;

Even the AH capped account is 1Mbps down on my line speed. I usually achieve 3.4Mbps or better.

Well, today was a flawless day... not a single wobble of slowdown.

This is just what it was like in January.

Hope it stays as thus!

The thread is so quiet, let me post something before it falls off the grid.

Speedtest said 1861Kbps, so I should get about 232KB/s and I averaged 231KB/s

I see currently International Speed test is slow.

My line speed is 4Mbps, not right.

Sorry it seem myBB speedtest could be at fault.

PPPOE Authentication issues on my line.
Ticket ID: OOJ-847-26774

Afrihost says its a Telkom problem
and if I call Telkom they say its an Afrihost problem.

Even though the line is syncing correctly.

I have tested this with AH account, WA account, even the telkom guest account. 2 different ADSL routers as well :'(
