4Mbps line with Hulu setting on high and it's smooth sailing for me tonight.

But then again I hardly have issues with international sites on my line and speed tests are about equal to local and sometimes better.

It is starting to look like I only have issues with Netflix and Hulu when their servers are loaded or when my exchange has a wobble.

For those having issues which UnoTelly DNS server are you using? Have you tried the São Paulo one?
 
HuluPlus is streaming fine now. Seems like speeds improve once its around 19:00 or later in the evening.
 
Been running slow (and line dropping very frequently) ever since last night's lightning strike near us :( http download not going above 200kb/s on 4mbps account. Line stats have also been jumping like crazy since last night (SNR was sitting at -3.2 at one stage :/ and attenuation was at like 75), I have never ever seen any number other than 0 next to CRC, FEC, HEC etc but last night numbers were going into the thousands and this morning too those numbers are in the hundreds :(

Anyone else having problems? I'm in the Senderwood area (Edenvale exchange I think)

There is probably water in a junction somewhere along the route to the exchange

Besides for the occasional stuttering (99.99% sure that that's because I'm using the wireless handset), I haven't noticed any noise. The phone is running perfectly.

It all started going haywire last night a few seconds after the lightning struck near us, so maybe that and not water?

Your traces looks pretty good to me. Do you see any improvement at different times of the day? Also, which DNS provider are you using?

I see some spikes in latency but intermittent so it's hard to see where they originate. Do you get different results using the Telkom guest account? Please PM me so we can check this out :(

My DNS provider is UnoTelly. I tend to have issues with streaming via YouTube or Hulu. Ever since I moved from Mweb to Afrihost, i've had problems with international speeds. Local is fine. When I was given the Afrihost critical care login to test with, it immediately showed a marked improvement in international speeds.

Well, we don't like to think of it that way. We'd prefer for clients to pay for what they need. That's why we brought in Turbocharge and Free GB's so all our clients have a lot of choice :)

Does that mean with normal Uncapped, Torrents have lower priority, but with a business account, ideally we have to setup our own QoS in our own router?

Yes, we don't assign any priority on Business. So you can set your own QoS or shape your services by contention on your line.
