Log into client zone. Do it from there -

Spartan / Druid,

1. Log into ClientZone (switch to ClientZone Beta - my instructions are for Beta)
2. Click on Connectivity
3. Click on your account on the right - should be 1mb uncapped
4. Click "edit Package"
5. Select 1mb Business DSL
6. Accept terms
7. You should see change the next day.

hmmm something is seriously wrong on the afrihost network, pulling repos from github @ 4KB/s

Hhhmm, no general issues in Cape Town at the moment. IPC is looking good.
Are other downloads being affected by this?

Maybe GitHub are experiencing some issues? There shouldn't be any reason why downloads are slow.

Github is slow for me too, but yeah, everything else is flying.
In comparison, I'm getting maxing out my line on the VirtualBox update.

Afriguy, somebody broke our internet today! Our modem says Connected, but at 10008Kbps, and it doesn't get any IP address. Why? This is not at all cool.

We haven't broken anything, promise :)
Please send me a PM with your telephone line and I'll run some checks for you.

Please somebody help... Afri people are not replying to me.

My netgear modem (under router status) says connected at 10008Kbps/1023Kbps. However this is incorrect as my line speed is 4Mbps or 4096Kbps.
The modem does not get as far as getting as getting an IP address for itself.
However I have confirmed that it is connected, because when I go in client zone and say test my line, it says my line speed is 10008Kbps.... and all the other details are fine:

ADSL Router Results (Telkom Exchange to Your Location)
General Status
There no defects on the line.

Maximum Sync Rate
10016kbps

Current Downstream Sync

DSLAM Results (Your Location to Telkom Exchange)

Is my modem faulty? Is it the line? filters? Exchange? Telkom? Afrihost? Should I buy a new modem?

It's a 10Meg sync, but if you aren't connecting to the account then it's likely that you're unable to sync nicely - ie I had an issue where I was synced, but due to a line fault it wouldn't actually connect and get an IP address. You could ask AH to drop your line sync.
