Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

So my ADSL returned to normal. The funniest thing is that there was absolutely no issues when it came to real-time traffic.

But I need some clarification. I might be a little daft in this regard but I pay for a 2048Kbps ADSL line. So it really confuses me when an Afrihost employee tells me:

I looked at my screen in a bit of amazement. I pay for 2048Kbps (and yes I know its a best effort service) but according to this person I should only get 1090Kbps and the fact that I am getting 1390Kbps is more than what I should get.

That isn't sounding right at all. Unless your line is syncing at a lower speed this isn't really possible.

Drop me DM and I'll check up on things for you. Also please include the ticket ref# and I'll see where the confusion is coming from :)

Wait what?
No no no.
My [then] 2Mb line provided me with ~1.78Mbps down and 0.44Mbps up. That's about the average you should get (210KB/s down and 53KB/s up).

Sorry about the confusing, I'm following up on things to see where the info is coming from. If you have a 2Mbps account and it syncs at that speed that's what you'll get :)

The Afrihost helpdesk is like the Telkom helpdesk, there is a lot of monkeys running around there that are terrible at their job.

I'm sorry if we've ever let you down, but we have a team of absolute legends on our end. Everyone can make the odd mistake here and there. I stand behind our Support team 110%.

I am going to test my line with another ISP free account. If all goes well then I will cancel. Tired of this bs!!

How about getting Telkom to upgrade me to 10Mbps or even better to 20Mbps?

Now that would be awesome support! Come on Afriman. Pull of that trick and I'll buy you not one but several cases of ice cold beer. Mmmmm...beeeer....

Bribes being accepted shortly :p
I really wish we could push a magic button and do this!

Netflix was poor last night and quite poor this morning again.

Hulu is fine.

Business Account dead this morning in Durban. Can ping sites but cannot connect or browse. Also my Afrihost APN iPhone couldn't browse to a lot of sites on 3G.

Mine is not dead. It is just slow...

Getting 1.5 -1.8 Mbps on speed tests when it should be 3.2 +

Barely usable this morning. Waited a minute for forum to open. Ugh. Wanted to run Speedtest, can't open the site.

I wonder whether my post wil submit...

Got speedtest to open. Tried to run. Said test timed out. Not usable at all.

My account was also dead this morning.
My account has not been as smooth running in the past few days. Seems like AH is taking strain with all the new mweb signups. Was hoping that this would not affect the business uncapped accounts, but guess even paying for a premium account does not save you :(

So, not just me then. I can barely use the service this morning.

I sometimes need to reload pages a third time to get it open, other times it's immediate. Pings are fine though:

There is most definitely a rat in the Afrihost system.

What is happening with Afrihost today? Our mail is not connecting at all. Internet is working intermittently and slow when it is working. Afrihost mobile is not working AT ALL.

Is there a problem with the network? I am at this point seriously considering cancelling my entire account with you, this is costing us money.
