Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

When I started at Afrihost in 2009 I was content with 3GB of cap a month (and rarely finished it)
Need I say more?

Hahaha, I had the same 3GB account for years. Now I'll be lucky not to burn through 300GB. There is no such thing as enough bandwidth ;)

Top up on some data today! Make sure you don't run out of data while you're downloading ;)

I think the word rape scared the MSAN, back to life. Running at 980.4 KB/s. If 20Mbps/40Mbps was a bit cheaper I might go for that.

My line's maximum is 13Mb, since I'm a whole 2.6km from the exchange.... so I'm stuck on 10Mb :D

We just need to change the South African mentality that says a cap is normal. So many people have become used to small caps and limiting their internet usage that they cannot comprehend why one would need uncapped internet.

Still the same ****ty experience for me, no Telkom yet...

Have you tried applying? Those VDSL exchanges are a rare commodity.

Yep they are it appears. Was a big gathering the night it went live. Think it was the first one in CPT as well at the time.

Nope not yet, I think Telkom charges you more if the sync at higher speeds than 10Mbps.. or am I wrong?

You're right.

Fastest DSL - up to 4/10 Mbps R425
Elite (20 Mbps) R 540
Elite + (40 Mbps) R 795

Yes, they will charge you for the VDSL upgrade. You can try out 20Mbps and see how it works at first.

Move house :)

Ouch! I don't think I could handle that truth :(

Congestion is a funny one, Telkom have all these different departments like budget control and infrastructure planning, so to effect a backhaul upgrade is a major exercise. The real problem is that they plan everything out at the beginning of the financial year, so an ad hoc request for upgrade is difficult for them to prioritise.

I would be hopeful though that next month's line upgrades will coincide with major backhaul upgrades ;)
