Cool!
Just want to make sure it won't make your line fault any worse :(

My line has actually been going much better lately. Haven't had any issues in a couple of days, or actually no issues this entire week. Hopefully the Telkom techy that came to my house over the weekend fixed it for me :)

That's awesome to hear dude, I'm keeping fingers crossed it stays like this :)

Yeah me 2. Ok upgraded to the 4mb business package. Hopefully Telkom and you okes will now do me a favour and upgrade me to the 10mb business package for the same price once you know what's popping :) Will keep you posted. Thanks for all the help and putting up with my *** :)

It's always a pleasure! As long as your line is set to that speed it'll be an instantaneous move. If not, it'll be 48 hours for the line upgrade.

Sorry, what you mean if my line is set to that speed? :) Meaning it can support 4mb, or 10mb or whatever?

No no, so if your line is currently at a 4Mbps sync the data will be upgraded, so will your speed.
If you've got a 2Mbps line and needs an upgrade with Telkom it'll take 48 hours.

Hope that makes a bit more sense :)

Ok yeah it does. Just did the self test and still synced at 2mb. Eish :( And the line upgrade will happen automatically?

It should. Drop me a PM, I can't remember what your line syncs at on our end.
Just one PM though hey, my inbox is getting full :p

So is it just me or is 800kb/s the new 1Mb?

I changed over from a MWEB 1Mb where I would often hit 100kb/s, but now nothing goes above 800 and I'm confused.
I am on a 1Mb business package, if that wasn't clear.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 742 kbps (92.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 427 kbps (53.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 40 ms

Assuming you meant 1000kbps, not 100 here :)

Where are you connecting from?

Haha, yeah I did, sorry.

From Melkbosstrand, Cape Town.

I think it's important for me to add that on network monitors etc, the speed actually fluctuates around the 800kbps region. It might shoot over to say 816.8, but then back down to 788.2 and back up again. Sometimes it stabilizes around 800, but then it tries to overshoot and gets pulled back down.

Business Uncapped...?? Perhaps the service is uncapped and unshapped, but at these speeds, how are you supposed to get anything done? 3073726416.png

Have you tried downloading a file and checking the speeds you're getting?
At what linespeed are you?

My 10Meg is getting me this:
Code:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 8460 kbps (1057.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 857 kbps (107.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 21 ms

Out of interest, what tool did you use to measure your download? Was it local or international download?

I want to give it a bash.

So does Telkom work over weekends? my line is still syncing at 2mb. Hopefully it will be upped to 4mb soon..

Their techs do [sometimes] but they don't do upgrades and the likes over weekends, from this perspective (coming from a business).

We'd have to check your line stats and your product to see what the differences could be. We had some reports of poor throughput last week, but generally we're now seeing excellent throughput again on our Business accounts in the Cape.

Drop me a PM please :)
