I managed to a few more speed tests done... so here they all are again for comparison.

10MB AH Business:

The above is choppy as hell... bursts for a split second, then halts.

1GB MWEB CAPPED:

3GB AXXESS FREE:

Strange how the fastest and most stable of the lot above is the Axxess account, and then the MWEB.
I just don't understand how the same line performs so much better on ANYTHING, other than my "unshaped Business" account?
Even more strange is that Axxess is also on MTN, also has bandwidth/capacity issues, yet it is flying at the moment - go figure :wtf:

That's probably because Afrihost is a sham.

No No... remember, it's your line :p
Lines degrade over time.... it has to be your line LOL :p

Oh ya! Your right! It's my line! Better go and log a fault with telkom and while I'm at it I'll buy myself a bunch of modems in case theu faulty. One of them has to work right?

Internet is extremely slow in the evening( 10% of line speed). In the early mornings, like now, it moves at 50% line speed.. not good enough yet.

I am also having streaming issues tonight. Everything I try stream buffers like crazy. This is pathetic. So sick of this. Afrihost fix your business uncapped accounts now.

I'm really sorry that you are having such an awful experience. I wish there was something I could physically do, but right now we're waiting on Telkom to come and flip the switch for us. Until then, we're just sitting on our network engineer's heads to try and squeeze out every ounce of performance we can to improve all our client's experience in affected regions :(

something seriously wrong with international speeds, local speeds I am getting full 4m speeds but on international it is crawling at 30kb/s ?

Must say, this account is currently useless. getting less than 1mbps down on my 4mbps line. Really really really frustrating when trying to watch a livestream!!

I know it's pretty frustrating, and I think there are other clients feeling this as well. I am confident that our upgrade is going to bump up everyone's experience in a big way, and we'll hopefully never be in a situation like this again. I suppose one should never say never, but from what I understand, the long term contingencies planned will make a huge difference to capacity planning :(

So how many more months do I need to pay R700 for an unshaped business account that performs worse then a shaped home account?

How many more months and money must I throw down the drain until Afrihost actually lives up to its promise?

I signed up with afrihost because I was willing to pay for a truly Unshaped business account. Yet your accounts are not performing as promised on your website. This is blatant false advertising.

The fact that you are sincere about it and promising that when Telkom flip the switch everything will be good, that means nothing to me. I am not interested in Telkom this, Telkom that, capacity this, capacity that. It is not my problem.

Your business offerings should always be performing at it's absolute best. It's what we pay a premium price for. End of story.

If Afrihost cannot ensure that it's business offerings are performing then this needs to go to the ASA.

Sort your business accounts before Afrihost gets into anymore trouble.
