Lol they snuck that one in all quietly :P To think all that arguing and cancelling of accounts over a network status that was implemented this quick :P

The problem here is, they did it.... they did it :) and that means that I was correct. Its in my opinion that they admitted they where wrong for not doing it

Well, it looks like they had no choice after Telkom kicked them in the grapefruits and all. How many people will notice the network status? Perhaps a few and the majority will probably just signup without really looking.

Then why the big booha to put it up to begin with?

Is there a problem with the AH site at the moment? Been having issues with poor service since last year, opened a ticket with AH and was told to test my uncapped 4mb account against the 1gb free capped account (even though I've already tested about 3 other accounts and see the same results), problem is I cannot actually sign up for it. Keep getting a 404 error after entering my landline number.

Error has occured (404)

So now what do I do?

There are some issues on the site that we are trying to resole as quickly as we can.

Try signing up directly from ClientZone for now.

How long is a piece of string?

This is why I suggested wireless, as you don't know how long it will take for the exchange to be upgraded, it could be years or never.

This is what I would do if faced with your situation.

Huh :D

I suggested this a while back for isabelladol :D

She has been having exchange congestion for a year, as her line is with AH, and has been dealing with them. I suggested to PM TelkomZA for more info on any plans for her exchange, but for now, wireless is the only option IMO.

Wireless options in Wynberg Cape Town... are there any that anyone knows of ?

Only one I could find was amoeba when I did a quick search back then. Although, now I can't see them in the results :wtf: Might be coz I'm in friday mode and don't really give a continental at the mo :D

If anyone knows of any more, let us know please :)

EDIT: Maybe I got the name wrong?

The thing is, some guy from Telkom, came to the house and swears to me that the port I am on has no congestion whatsoever, he said everything looks good on their side. Either Telkom is lying to me or something else is seriously wrong. On top of that my ticket which was being dealt with AH's critical care department, has suddenly changed and no some other guy is dealing with it. It's really hard to get something sorted out if I have to re-explain and re-send the 50 odd tests on numerous accounts I've done when there's a new person contacting me every few days.

Wireless is not exactly cheap to install, the rates you pay are also higher than on ADSL, it's not really a good option for me at this point. Either AH or Telkom is lying to me, it's impossible to get a solid answer as to what is going on, the guy from AH's critical care department informed me that there were port errors coming up on their side, and then Telkom says everything's peachy when its obviously not.

This is the problem with AH support. Each stage of the communication is dealt with a new person, they should really keep tickets to one person IMO.

What did TelkomZA say?

Ye, rather deal with Telkom yourself, leave AH out of it.

I see it is expensive to install, but it's once off, and no line rental after that, but data is a bit restrictive, from my outside view.
