Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

Doesn’t seem to be just Afrihost, seemed like all connectivity was up/down for a minute or two, as it effected various access types.

Ye everything just went dead for about two minutes, phone starting ringing with clients saying DSL is dead.

Nothing on the DSL network - just a brief connectivity problem with our Bryanston DC. Shouldn't have affected DSL in any way.

I had 10 of my Bryanston Servers go down, so yeah - I can agree on this one ^
Was up and running again within 5 minutes

Well, I'm in Norwood and my capped account went from maxing the line to about 50%-60% about the same time this outage in Bryanston was occurring.

Web Africa back up account running at 100%..

Most likely a coincidence yes. Sure the 2 are totally unrelated. I been stress testing this line since I got it a couple of days ago and it has been performing with aplomb with the exception of the last hour or so....

Just confirmed with a buddy in CT on Axxess who was online at the same time. Had similar issues so I suspect it was an MTN backbone issue.

Not ranting at Afrihost or anything - just wondering what root cause was and how it can be avoided in future. Might be something that isn't being monitored and a possible enhancement for Afri to detect these issues going forward.

That's exactly it. if no one uploaded torrents wouldn't work. It's amazing how even pirates are that selfish.

Have you considered that some of us prefer to finish the download and then seed afterwards? On smaller, obscure torrents I usually seed overnight because uploading during the day has a tendency to ruin your browsing and other internet applications.

Have you considered that some of us prefer to finish the download and then seed afterwards? On smaller, obscure torrents I usually seed overnight because uploading during the day has a tendency to ruin your browsing and other internet applications.

This is why I limit my upload speed to 10kB/s. I still get full download speed with this setting. (uTorrent)

Had to use backup account earlier... then was OK for a while but starting to degrade again.

Can anybody watch twitch.tv on Business Account?

I have been and sending emails like mad for almost 2 weeks now to Support!
But just replay on "Reboot Router" or send them some test results..

If I switch to my Capped account then I get Full Line Speed!
But when I am on my 2Mbps Business account.. this is the Average I get over 5min test (Buffering like crazy!!)

I have checked and my Business Optimisation is Deactivated. (even tried switch on and off again)
All my test show everything good on my side.
Like I said.. It works Perfect Full speed on Capped account..
But twitch.tv doesn't get bandwidth on Business account.
Youtube and other stuff does go Full Line Speed on Business..

Can AfiGuy or someone working for Afrihost please fix this.
I would appreciate it a lot...

Come on Afrihost, this has been going on since last night for me in CPT. This really is getting long in the tooth.

Still no comment on compensation for the capacity debacle a couple of months back. I'm honestly starting to question my loyalties.
