On page 543

AfriMan,

I noticed something the other day, on the Static IP account you can't access Google Play Store on an android phone.

But if I use a normal Afrihost account it works fine.

I wonder if you guys could try replicate this on your end?

Sadly the performance of my connection isn't just affecting torrents. I have been getting poor download speeds on Steam and HTTP downloads.

Yep, same here, since the MTN "takeover" i guess i will also be looking for another ISP as my everything is slow....even youtube on 360P........

Is anyone else have speed issues tonight? This is crazy slow. I have reset my router, it didn't make any difference.
 
Its abnormally bad. Feels like more than just an IPC capacity issue.

According to the call centre agent (kudos where it is due, the chap did pick up almost instantly) there is currently an issue with the CPT IPC link that should be sorted in the hour...

Afri* this has been ongoing for me since 3rd of June, please can we try to get to the bottom of it and get it sorted?
 
Have had intermittent speeds and have been in discussion with AH tecnical last week ....

Their response below....

Although the trace route was not done using the Telkom guest account, it indicates a network alleviation on our network.
You should be experiencing better speeds; unless this is still intermittent - for which we'll have to address with MTN Business, & not Telkom.

To be fair the weekend was great ... and will check speeds later tonight.For now, seems ok on my side (East)

edit .... wonder why they didnt raise this with MTN Business in the first place?? Just asking ......

Bought a WebAfrica 5+5 (plus free 50gigs) as a backup. It flies, and confirms there is currently a serious problem on the South IPC.
 
Been having intermittent speed issues. Was happening all of yesterday (8th June). Whole day today (9th June) was fine till just now about 10pm - 12am Periodically speed (browsing, downloading, streaming) all drops to unusable and then after couple seconds, speed back to normal. Happens every few minutes. Incredibly frustrating.

Speed test shows speed normal but seems like there's a jitter or something.

Hear you .... my speed dips and then comes back.

I have done more tests for AH than I did in my final year of Chem Eng.....

Glad it's not just me with this problem. Still having the issue now. Will keep an eye on it in the morning and during the day to see if it continues.
