All my torrents are dead with plenty of seeders ect.(meets all the criteria for a healthy torrent download)
This is happening a LOT these days. Thanks for crap service once again AH!

Torrents were definitely running for me. Not great speeds, but not entirely terrible. On a 20Mbps line I was getting between 4Mbps and 7Mbps, but I wasn't really trying to max the line.

Did the torrents connect later? What was latency like?

What speed should torrents run at on a 20Mbps line?

Johnatan56 gives a pretty good example above.
It depends on a lot of factors though.

If your torrent app has been tweaked to completely saturate the line, connecting to a lot of peers, trackers etc etc - a 20Mbps line should run it at line speed.
So theoretically, 2MB/s.

Well this is new packet loss started all ready today? TS is borked LoL etc unplayable on AH same issue as usual just started in the middle of the day cape town capped account etc

Something weird xD so go and play some bf4, there are two servers, CPT and JHB, so I see my JHB ping is 28-30 and my CPT ping is 50-60ms, how that possible if I live in CPT xD

If you look at Speedtest they select the best ping and it is going to Jo'burg all the time. Something changed.

I tried to game last night and it timed me out constantly. The pings were average but the game stuttered a lot. Unplayable still even at midnight.

Looks like there was a bit of a wobble in the South, we saw traffic drop off sharply but looks like it's back to normal now :)

Situation down South is dismal.
20mbps line SAIX speedtest.

Code:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 9545 kbps (1193.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1441 kbps (180.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 61 ms

The South is quite busy at the moment :(

Not pleased that it's acting up, but pleased that there's a definitive reason.
Is this particular issue - busy (or as many would suggest - congested  ) - be addressed by the big changes being discussed?
If so great. If not what's the plan of action to address?
Rgds,
SD

It's basically all on demand and how it's handled. I'd really love to spill the beans, but I can't just yet :(
That's the major thing we're concentrating on, and it's being tested daily. So we're on track, there just isn't a time we can ear mark for the implementation.

12 seconds (11987ms) HotS lag. Keep getting stuck on catching up.
Meanwhile my skype call is fine, 257ms round-trip to Bulgaria

EDIT:
ping test:

Things seems to be getting worse slowly.
My local ping is a bit better (down from 477), but now my speeds are taking a hit (down from 6.9Mb/s).

Torrent client open:
Total download speed: 15-35KiB/s (down from the usual 600+KiB/s)
Total upload speed 0-5KiB/s :(

Speedtest.net refuses to load so i went to the mb speedtest:

Hope this may help you diagnose further. Let me know if i can do additional tests for you.

Afrihost makes Eskom seem like a well run company.

Afrihost, you are pathetic.

Definitely not! Could be that our network isn't handling the current load as well as it should. I'll check with the Team to make sure HotS traffic is properly configured.

Do you have any other games that are problematic at the moment?
