Dude, I don't know what network you were using, but NOTHING was working OK this weekend! NOTHING!
Fully understandable, I think everyone can describe the issues differently.
Ideally, we need to look forward and note that improvements are coming - and they're not small ones either. I totally understand if your experience isn't to what you want it to - but please also understand that it's not something that's being ignored, it's something that's being actively worked on.
The network definitely did not go down. As I said in my post on another thread (or was it this thread), our graphs showed demand was well under maximum and latency was constant across all regions. So from a stats perspective, everything should have been perfect.
So there is nothing wrong at ESKOM because even though you don't have lights all of the surrounding suburbs do.......
If the Internet services that your Customer wants to use are down your network is down, or are you saying Android Users and Google service's don't count, they need to switch to Ios?
When is it coming... when JZ eventually pays for Nkaaandla?
And therein lies your problem. Ever heard of: lies, damned lies, and statistics...
I usually find that when someone starts a sentence with "So what you're saying is ..." what follows in nothing close to what I've actually said.
This is the Capped ADSL thread, how can you say it is fine on the basis that an alternative product that you used was fine?and I was using my Mobile Data off my phone (which seemed fine for me).
Also didn't notice anything unusual this weekend in Cape Town, everything worked, latency was a bit high, but its been like that since forever.
stats don't lie, they just open to interpretation. Once we have the full picture of what other factors may have been present, then we can give a more accurate picture of what could have happened. Right now, we only have some information, saying one thing, and first hand experience saying something contrary. We still need to do some actual investigation and troubleshooting to see what the missing piece of the puzzle is that links the two together.
And where exactly did I say that?
If you are going to put people down at least have the decency to address their issue and not make up things they never said to challenge them on.

I Switched to Telkom and it was fine, it didn't make your service fine though. It just showed that Telkom was a better ISP.

Dude, don't get on my wrong side... I will cancel the service today...
My internet is broken, it performs LIKE CRAP... How much more info do you need?
Youtube is still slow, it was so slow on the weekend I could not use it, the videos took 20 MINUTES ON AVERAGE TO LOAD.
You know, I don't come here to complain for nothing, nor am I complaining for the sake of complaining. If I tell you my internet is stuffed, then you can be reasonably sure I did all the necessary on my side.
Well feedback from your customers forms part of the stats. So your two sets of stats are contradictory. Although, I am inclined to believe that demand looked good according to your stats as many people couldn't use the network due to some or other occurrence.
I guess it depends on what you use. I hardly use the net at home for much except browsing and YouTube. And the occasional linux distro (which has nothing to do with Falling Skies Season 5 starting).
For me, YouTube was a killer. But Gmail worked for me pretty normally, and browsing seemed pretty normal.
At a push, and as a result of the glitches over month end, could Afrihost consider rolling unused data over please?

I certainly experienced something similar to what was reported here. Some services were mostly OK, but YouTube was a no-go for most of the weekend. I've reported my experience to the network team, still hoping they can clue me in so I can pass that info on.

I'm not sure we are disagreeing with each other here. I am not in any way disputing that YouTube was poor this weekend and may well be poor now if they haven't found the cause. I was just making the point that if experience is different to stat reports, it doesn't mean that the report is a lie, it just means there is most likely missing information that will make the reports and experience make sense. When we have that information, like say if a node was down or a protocol was not identified correctly, we'll know why the reports said one thing but experience was not supporting the reports directly.
