Afrihost Capped ADSL Feedback (MTN) - New beginning

I too am interested in this. Thinking of going for the 50GB + 50GB capped option - just need to see out the notice period with Crystal Web as I canceled with them after the 19th of this month. Still use AH for mobile data - looking forward to coming back. ;)

The new Proof of Concept networks open up some amazing possibilities! I for one can't wait to share some of the cool new things that we're going to be able to do!

Little sad I have to wait a whole month for this. I *could* start using it ASAP - but that means paying double. :(

Maybe for the best though... Double Charges are nothing to sneeze at, and by then hopefully our general network performance will also have improved.

Quick question: Data-rollover on the capped accounts, AH does not do this, correct?
 
This is so retarded. I can't even get past the Hero selection screen in D3 because things keep timing out. And my latency in HotS is so bad it's unplayable.

At the moment any Top-ups that you purchase will roll-over to the next month, but the main account's data will not, no.

But double charges are exactly what we have had to put up with, the full fee to Afrihost and then 100Gb of telkom data because the Afrihost data is unusable evenings and weekends. I am discarding another 75Gb of afrihost data again tonight at midnight...and the 25Gb that I did use was on speed tests and trace routs, not entertainment.

And have already been invoiced by both Afrihost and Telkom for next month.

Well if you want to be pedantic I didn't actually count the bytes and it may well be more than 75Gb that are letf. The gist is that for the 3rd month in a row I have used Telkom for Work and my wife's movies, and Afrihost testing the line for Afrihost, my clients and my own edification.

Is that better?

Speed tests and trace routes would maybe account for GB at most if you're constantly doing them, I guess. You're right though, I am being pedantic and this is digressing somewhat. Let's hope AH's new network sorts things out.
 
I'm busy averaging 0.3mbps - 0.7mbps on an 8mbps line. Afrihost, the home of pure internet joy.
 
I'm getting this on speedtest and saix.....and nothing works.....streaming on youtube is not happening

Our link to the local Google cache has been restored, so Youtube at least should be running at a much better knick. Can you please send me a PM with your ADSL username quickly.
