Afrihost Capped ADSL Feedback (MTN) - New beginning

I think the problem people are trying to get across here is why is there so much inconsistency on the network? There are post like the ones above daily.

No good you guys testing 2 days after the complaint and saying everything looks fine now.

I'm still yet to receive that answer after a month of support tickets.

Each issue posted here differs a little, and if we see something wrong from our end we'll say so. Otherwise, we'll investigate and troubleshoot on a case by case basis.
I've also replied to your thread over on the Uncapped thread, please try and keep feedback within one thread.

Let's see...

1. Packet loss
2. Slow download speeds
3. Poor streaming
4. iOS download issues
5. High latency

They all look the same to me.

Once I've investigated each one and compared timestamps to IPC, I can tell you :) Trending isn't as simple as "an issue was posted, it's got something in common".

Sure thing.

After nearly 3 years of being with Afrihost I canceled because of the continues daily issues and lack of support feedback.

Please look into all the support tickets on my account over the last month and then tell me if your support is acceptable.

In around half a month I only managed to use 49GB of my 200GB cap. With the new ISP I signed up with I've managed the same amount in 4-5 days.

Sorry to hear you've left, I sincerely wish you the best of luck going forward though.

Please discuss other ISPs outside of this thread or via PM :)
Do I sense a measure of sensitivity?
Whilst davedes was very acceding and replied on PM I think the question by ID_10_T was without malice, ill intent and VERY relevant to this thread. I was going to ask the same.
Let's not get caught up in the behaviors that are all pervasive within our government and parastatals. Let's deal with issues directly and with maturity.

/snip

Dropping prices and double data promotions = marketing / value proposition = what got me hooked.
Capacity upgrades = maintaining operational stability / enabling larger customer base = what will keep me hooked.
Me keeping my service and regularly alerting AH to issues = customer loyalty.
Me driving these issues with AH rather than walking away = customer loyalty.
AH acknowledging issues and addressing vigorously = AH service commitment.
AH doing something for customers who have clearly been experiencing issues all the way back to the IPC woes of last year = AH loyalty.

Keen to see whether AH can do anything wrt the last point above.

Having said that my post was less about recompense and more about the frustration that triggered it - the view that those experiencing issues are in the minority, that things are running well, that those issues that are encountered are isolated. As I've said in a prior post - we just need to be kept in the loop. We accept that there are issues. We just need to know what's being done, when it will be done, and if it has been done (closeout).

A still loyal AH customer,
SD

Thanks for posting this, and thanks again for sticking it out with us!
To address some of your points above, we're always in the game of giving our clients awesome things. And we're continuing to run promotions wherever possible. Capacity upgrades have also been coming in, mostly, on time :)

We know that the experience we're providing our clients with now isn't the best, we know we can do better. And it's something we're working on really hard, definitely not sweeping it under the rug to forget about it.
For your last point, we have given back to our clients after previous issues - ultimately this is a Management decision though. It's been brought up, and I'm sure they'll have something done, but I personally cannot make any promises here.

Happy to deal with any issues here, but ultimately these threads are for feedback :) Things normally get a bit wayward when other topics are discussed.

Sorry to hear about the issues here :( Latency shouldn't have been spiking up like this, what's the experience like this morning?
Is the latency spiking a characteristic of MTN, because Axxess also does this?

So my ping has seemed stable enough the past few evenings... and packet loss to most gaming servers has been neglegible. However my packetloss to my teamspeak server was sitting at a horrific 48% last night :| Any ideas? The server is hosted at cptts.gameservers.com (Will provide port if you PM me. Already had a headache with random people joining the server so don't want to make port public)
