Really sorry about that, we're working hard on getting this sorted out.
I'm sure we'll see some good improvements soon.

Soon soon haha, sorry I can't take afrihost seriously anymore. You treat your customers like children so unfortunately I have resulted in not taking anything afrihost says seriously anymore.

I commend you for sticking with them Afriguy, personally I'd be getting my cv out there "soon" if I was you.

Sorry if that's the intention you've got - it's definitely not the case. We value each and every client.
Yes, things aren't great now, but they will be.

Personally, and I normally don't really like talking about stuff like this, but I've been with Afrihost for over 2 years. I've never been happier at a company in my nearly 10 year career. I love everything about the place and have full faith in Gian and the team to get things running really well again.

Dude be very careful with IS capped. Just quit CW as their Capped IS account sux big time.

From what I heard, IS controls the shaping ... bad very bad

Okay... please elaborate then... my guess is that I might as well just not have internet at all then, seeing is it all sucks now?

I consume 300Gbyte a month, mostly torrents and mostly streaming... who can provide that need? I went for capped because uncapped is snake oil in this country

So, just WHEN are we going to actually SEE this on this network?

Just WHEN is it going to be more than "barely" usable?

In the "next few days", "soon" when you FINALLY have added "network capacity"...????

How SOON?

I'm not aware of any new capacity being added to the current network, to be honest. I think it may refer to the additional capacity of the POC networks which will relieve congestion when the traffic of those clients testing is moved over. We also plan to move over several other realms we operate as well in the initial phase.

Oh dear, as suspected.

So how can it be resolved when it has not actually happened?
has AFRIHOST learnt nothing?
Blatantly lying to us is what has caused most of the dissatisfaction, more so than the actual lack of service.
Now we sit with a broken network that you "hope" the POC's will provide relief too and yet that is considered as being resolved...............

It is not resolved until it works, are we considered to have paid in full because we received your invoice and may get round to sending you a check that may or may not be honoured?

This is bull@#$%

I see another wave of cancellations today and it is those cancellations that are actually improving your throughput not any new capacity or re-routing of a broken system.

The contention ratio is coming down to match capacity and befor you congratulate yourselves on fixing the network just spare a moment to realise that it means your income is also coming down, probably faster than your network speed is going up.

I'm sure the intention is in anticipation of moving users over to the new networks ASAP. I know there has been some progress is resolving latency in the South. I'll try to find out more about the reasons why the network status was changed if I can :(

As noble as your comment may be, you cannot resolve a fault status without confirmation from the users, and thus far there are still more complaints than satisfied users. Also it won't take a day or two to confirm that all is "Green", you will need to go through a period to make sure everything is well again.

and then "optimise" and "tweak" and "monitor", don't forget.

Really, I think SANRAL has more credibility now than Afrihost.

Definitely fair. Right now I don't have all the information on what testing was done. There have definitely been a massive reduction in the number of complaints, but that in itself is merely a possible indicator, not a confirmation. I can only say more when I have a little more information :(

LOL, I must add that the complaints have dropped probably because so many clients have cut over to another ISP. Like I have done.

If there is a reduction in complaints it is because you have admitted a problem exists and are "Working" on a solution. You asked people to bare with you whilst you implement it, the fact that they are now waiting, semi patiently, rather than complaining is definitely not an indication that they are happy and the problem is resolved. It is an indication that thay are sick of complaining and have either left or are giving you a last chance to sort it out...

Like I said, the fact is that complaints have reduced. I'm not taking that as confirmation of anything or reading into it. Until I get confirmation from management as to their reasons for removing the status, I think we're all pretty much shooting in the dark.

Well I hope you have enough bullets. You're going to need them.

I have stopped complaining because of... can you guess why?
(it's close, very close... its in my forum sig...)
