I seem to have been pushed onto a 75+75 bundle, instead of the 75 that I was on.

I don't need that much data, so I don't want to pay more than my legacy price.

Looks as if this whole thing was a schlenter to increase prices.

I got double-data too, but my invoice just says the normal (old price) it always has.

Looks like you are very close to the exchange. Very close. There are some problems with your line in some way though. Your SNR Margin on the Upstream of 7.3 is very bad..... Something wrong there.

It means there is too much noise on your line. My line is 6.9 SNR on the upstream and I'm 3km away from the exchange. You are less than 700ms from the exchange and your SNR is 7.3 only 0.4 higher than mine[higher = better]. That is bad because a slight change might mean your line can drop. Not saying it will but it might.

Cool I'm no expert though was just comparing my line with your so that link will sort you out. :)

Wasn't sure what the high values were. Used to the normal snr readings. Haven't had any problems so far. I'm about 600m from exchange.

Yeah its Telkom routers..... Just add the . before the last number.

That package expires at the end of September. If they extend the period, downgrade to the 50GB package for R199 per month.

Does anybody use their Afrihost capped account with their Playstation 4 via PPPOE?
If so what settings do you use to get it to work?

It used to work for me at the beginning of the year but for the past four or so months I keep getting "Failed to obtain IP Address".
 
it does seem to have gotten much better, hitting speeds of 3.3Mbps. However when there is a drop like that again, how does one fix it without spamming the forum??

Hi Afriman - problem here. I'm on a legacy 10Mb + 50GB account at R450 a month. I subscribed to another 60GB capped bundle last month, bringing my total to 110GB a month.

This month I have 160GB - my capped bundle has doubled. Have I been forced onto the new 10Mb + 100GB bundle at R580? I don't want to be charged more than R450 for this bundle. I don't even need that much data.

Help is appreciated.

You may have received additional data, but you should not have been charged more than your usual rate at all. If that is the case, then drop me a PM and we'll sort this out together.

4mb / 50gb account. Speedtest: 700+ ping, 0.27 download, 0.4 upload. Durbanville CPT. Not loving the account right now!!

That's definitely concerning. Can you post a traceroute or our network test app output so we can see where the latency starts?

I don't know if the routers produce the same values as we see from the exchange. It might be better if I give you results directly from the exchange.

Are you having a poor experience or just curious?

Strange, wonder why you are only synching at 6Mbps. Your upload should be limited to 512kbps if you actually dropped your synch profile, so if you're on the 10Mbps profile but synching at 6Mbps you might be seeing unstable performance on the line :(

You should definitely not be put onto a different price schedule, so this might be just extra data for double data. Many clients (especially more recently bundled) would be getting the full double data benefit.

Have you checked that you were not billed more in ClientZone?
