Speedtest with test account with another ISP!!!!Speedtest ISP.JPG

Speedtest with AH account-10 meg. Same exhange, same telephone line, same house, same distance, same time, same busy time, same pc and same router!!

Afrihost Speedtest.JPG

I pay every month my account. I expect things to run right. Just imagine if we pay monthly only for the service (speed) we get, I'm sure I will be paying every month R99.00 for 200 gig?????

AMEN

If you choose to stick with AH contact accounts and demand a refund. They agreed to credit me for data not used though that's still feeble. I'm enjoying my new ISP - long may it last!

13kB/s on torrents, with ample seeders, at 01:30am on a 40mb line. I'm sure it's just contention...

Wow,
I thought I had a faulty line, but all written here I am facing as well.

- No internet at all
- Internet up and down
- Slow connection, AH resets as I am not able to do this anymore myself ?? Works 'fine' for 20 min and drops again.
- Buffering during the day, no exception.

I was blaming Telkom, just as AH does. And only found out a few days ago that the actual bandwidth is coming from MTN as I thought it was just data coming from AH and the bandwidth Telkom.

Well Afriman when will this whole thing be upgrades in North, (River Club) as the main reason to buy 100Gb p/m for me is my Apple TV / Netflix, but pretty useless at the moment.

I see already other solutions here in this topic, and I am close to move to another ISP as well.

Seems like they are shaping like hell, even business uncapped, since midnight I am getting 10kbs on newsdemon while other stuff flies at 480kbs.

Afriman, whats going on.

40Mbps line downloading NNTP at 1Mbps this morning.

Start a http download and it flies at full line speed. Not shaped lol

Oh and this was at 5am. That's peak time right there

Things are not looking good for AH. Maybe it is time for all to vote with the wallet and move.

Heavy shaping atm. NNTP I was seeing like 6KB/s and just tried a torrent now, am currently getting 0.7KB/s.

Lets hope this is only a very temporary solution until those upgrades get done :/

Unfortunately I cannot take that risk. We can't be expected to carry on like this. I was all for waiting the last time we had this issue and it is still fresh in my mind now we are having it again.

They will probably wait till after the 25th then say the upgrades have been delayed. Unfortunately unless we get a solid date and its this week then I'm out as well this month. Don't feel like another month of slow speed while paying full price. Give us a discount this month or something

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...

Incredibly slow speeds on downloads again since last night! :(

Capped account on 10mbps line.

First time I have been affected since the new issues started.

I have just dumped Afrihost and it's not just down to the ongoing network fiasco. Over the last while the quality of support became embarrassing, newbies on the first level regurgitating scripts not getting anywhere and taking ages to do it. Non existent escalation processes, when eventually their telephonic system works. Lots of empty promises from managers that never see the light of day.

The network saga is a joke from end-to-end. They blamed iphone users for killing their network. When challenged they handed you off to telkom for a line fault even though they knew it was the network. Next it was just "demand", heaven forbid we actually use the service we were sold or expect them to manage their network to deal with the customers they know they have. Next it's "Mondays are busy days". It's one excuse after the next with no word or apology from Gian, no putting their hand up to admit they have stuffed up and zero compensation. Yet, they happily keep selling a service they cannot deliver on - it's arrogance on an epic scale. Fortunately it's easy to move and after a few clicks I'm at a new ISP and my service is back to usual.

As the customer you have choices, speak with your wallet. It's all these imbeciles will understand.
rant over!

I'm sorry that you have cancelled, I really do wish you the best for the future.

I think you have misread us though, we're definitely not driven by arrogance or selling, we're always motivated by giving our clients a good experience. Sometimes, like now, we can't make that happens as quickly as we'd like, but it's always the main motivation behind what we do.

We know that because we offer month to month services, a client has the power to cancel and move away at any time, so we can never sit back and forget about our clients. We always have to try our absolute best to deliver for our clients.

2nd Monday in a row, sort this out! Also phone lines down?

Sorry about that, we are doing our very best to get the upgrades pushed through as quickly as possible.

Our phone lines are definitely up and running. Please PM me if you are still not getting through :(

We know that during high demand periods our network performance is not as good as it should be in certain regions still waiting for upgrades. We are hopeful that this will be resolved within the month, as per our statement in a recent MyBB article. It all really depends on Telkom right now :(

Each application to accounts is judged on merit and on a case by case basis. The decision is issue a credit, refund or free service is entirely at their discretion to do so.

Sorry to hear that you've signed up elsewhere, but we truly wish you the best and hope things go well for the future :)

Not working so well in the South region either :(. Getting between 25-30% of my 2Mb line speed over P2P. Speedtest is fine, but tracert not looking so good.

We don't expect that performance issues will be much longer. Now that the East has been upgraded, we expect the North and South to follow ASAP. When we have a more concrete ETA, we'll let everyone know.
