How is this;

I ask Afrihost online via Twitter if anything is wrong, they say no, they'll make some changes to my line and I should be able to reconnect.
Nothing works.
So I go home from Somerset West to Cape Town (because I'm concerned my PC has crashed or something) and find my Afrihost account to be DOA - but my OpenWeb account works.
I call Afrihost and they say yes, there is a problem.

WTF!
Why didn't they tell me that earlier before I drove 50km!

Could have asked me, I had the exact same response 6 hours ago....

It seems most people having issues have >=10m vdsl ? Maybe there is a problem with the config btw Afrihost & telkom for these lines?

Sigh these IPC upgrades did notthing to help solve the slow speeds.

I'm considering moving to something like Web Africa's Business Capped packages.

Afrihost may not be shaping but what if MTN is without AH knowledge?

They keep going on about OTT services and having to pay for premium services, they may be running an experiment to test the protocols and shaping at a lower level than AH.

OK, Ignore that, just a Conspiracy Theory, MTN would never do anything like that :)

My Afrihost account....

Same line with WebAfrica.... (Not perfect, but way better)

Yeah something is up. Failed over to my Webafrica capped account.

Cruising like a MOFO.

Afrihost your DSL service is operating liking a whores draws.
Please fix it.

This is day 3 now. It seems to work fine after hours, but business hours are a disaster zone!

Morning Everyone

You may have seen that we have not put up a notice regarding reports of slow speeds coming in from clients, mostly becuase we've had so many reports here on MyBB. Our management are pushing our technical team to find out what could be behind this, as it's unusual to see such poor performance right after having upgraded our IPCs.

Some changes were made yesterday, and we did see some improvement, but we're going to keep working at this until we start seeing the kind of performance we expect.

I'll keep you guys updated as best I can as I get more info on this.

That changes did not change anything on my side, if any it's got worse.

Only get about 12% of my download speed on the above test. Upload seems fine in the test, but the pings are also bad compared to where it normally is.

Thanks Afriman! I hope you guys get to the bottom of this.
