Afrihost CAPPED ADSL Feedback (MTN)

Guess we will find out at the end of December whether or not we will be jumping ship. I'm definitely not paying R100 more for a service where I only want the double ADSL capped data.

I've been very happy with Afrihost for the last couple of months and will hate to move to another ISP.

And we'll hate to see you leave :(
Remember that double data was always going to be a limited special, something that's already been extended. Trust me though, it's bitter sweet for us too.

The later it got the worse it got for me.
At 22:00 i couldnt even stream Mobile quality (140p afaik) without buffering every 10 seconds then buffer for another 10 seconds.
This is on a 10Mb line, Capped account.
Youtube 1080p no problems.

Was this on one particular stream or across the board on Twitch?

It was not just that channel i promise. Chat would have gone crazy if it was.
When i had the same problem a 2 nights ago it was a different channel.

So with Afrihost+, if I have an existing MTN mobile contract with 250mb monthyl data, will it be provisioned with the extra 500mb?

If so, that makes it more attractive to me, as I also need the double data, but fully understand it was a promotion and needs to end at some point.

If you have existing data with us it'll qualify.

Lol I see what u doin there!

Honestly now, tell your guys to look into keeping the DD and topup but for an amount of say R50. Maybe that's possible?

Ah, but 2 for 1 topups will still be available to everyone :D
They've always been run at random times, and will continue to do so. Plus+ allows 2 for 1 topups permanently, all the time, 24/7 ;)

"Add it to your MTN Post‑Paid SIM Card
Don't have Afrihost Mobile Data yet, but you do have an MTN SIM with a post‑paid plan?
We can simply provision your SIM for access to our Mobile Data."

Sorry if it's come across as misleading. We're referring to adding APN functionality to your existing MTN account - so you'll need to sign up a data package with us in order to benefit from it.

Limited or not , your pricing is no longer competitive without it. I can't even point towards quality as a reason to stay with you guys after the recent shenanigans. Yes you can tell me things are now fixed but I'm currently low on confidence with you guys. To say it simply Afrihost is giving me little reason to stay, you guys really need to look at also altering your capped packages and not just this plus stuff.

Both our Mobile and DSL are incredible value for money, even without the double data. I know you've become used to double data every month, it's been a tough one to drop it :(
As always though, we're always innovating - Gian and his team dream up the craziest and awesome-est products!

I've seen a few people in this thread and the plus thread say your pricing no longer suits them. I'm just giving you my honest opinion, I would rather not leave you guys but there are ISPs that can offer me a better package.

Ah but what happens when opinions are actually based off fact?

Thing u have put together a package that is designed to hit a wide range of people, but as a result of throwing ur net so wide some customer's needs have fallen through the cracks.

Does that imply R2.50 per gig? And can it be applied with Auto topups?
