Funny tonight since 5:30pm till now my streaming has been perfect.
Tuesday was totally unwatchable. Last night I used OW so don't know for certain.

I can only attribute this to half the country load shedding and MTN don't have enough capacity on SAT3 or SEACOM or whoever they use.

Certainly rules out exchange congestion or IPC capacity since my whole area has power here in Cape Town.

We're still in the process of making improvements, even though we feel that a large portion of the work has been done and we've laid the foundation for really awesome network performance for a good while at the current demand.

I'd like to think it means our team are getting this right for clients :)

Afrihost, are you now shaping the capped accounts during the day or what ?
I have always had excellent results since I joined on 1st Jan this year and it would seem that in order to fix some, you have destroyed others.
Since 1st December my News clips, Youtube, and even vehicle sales picture slides have slowed down by about 50%.
At night after 6 pm, everything is perfect again.

No shaping at all on Capped or Business.
As you're mentioning times, it may be exchange related. Do you have any tests that I can look at?

I appear to be getting a lot of packet loss on NASA TV today via USTREAM it freezes every few frames the bursts at near my sync rate. It makes no difference if I select HD or 240p as the image quality.
Not a game breaker as they probably will cancel the launch again but it is annoying.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Telkom have acknowledged that there is some kind of fault in Cape Town. It seems to be doing crazy stuff to our internet. I've had everything from 50% packet loss to 2700 ping.

Are you just seeing this with our accounts or are the same issues replicated on a different account?

I tried 4 different accounts same issue.

Went to telkom shop.

They are very vague.

I think there is something bigger happening.

I haven't tested with any other account as its not mission critical and we are probably hours away from launch anyway, so I just have CNN International on now to get updates and it is running fine so I can live with that.

I am also in Cape Town so it could be the Telkom issue.
Give them hell for us please Afriguy :)

About 2 hours ago it was within the next 2 hours, latest from CNN is within the next 6 hours, NASA are being very secretive as to what is going on, hence me having it in the background on my 3rd monitor to keep an eye on things.

Why is it always Cape Town. What did we do to them?
I dont think we can discuss politics in this thread :)

I don't have exchange congestion, my DSLAM (10% occupied) is only 150 meters up the road.
