Hi All

Did a speedtest and my speed is running at full tilt again.

Not sure if I'm just lucky, but earlier it running about 70%.

Hoping it stays like this.

Looks like things are getting a bit better.

You're lucky... my account is just getting worse. I am now downloading at 365 bytes a second. Internet was faster 20 years ago.

All 4 Afrihost accounts at 3 different locations have been terrible for 4 days for me. Tested, mweb and axxess and they are both fine on those lines. This is totally unacceptable and you are blaming ios8? What happens when the new android OS gets released next month or windows 9 comes out, are you also going to put this down to a random occurrence that your subscribers must just accept?

It just seems to me that you have over sold and not done anything about it with the increased load. I can understand perhaps half to 1 days worth of bad internet performance, but this has been going on for far to long. As one of the largest ISPs in the country you should be better than this.

Afrihost to their customers right now!

Did another test via the MyBroadband test and it showed

Downloading a NZB however is very slow.. only 70 to 90 KB/s..

Tested a Torrent with 33 000+ seeders it took a while to get connected peers. After 3 mins only 13 peers connected @ 130 KB/s. @ 5 mins it connected to 19 peers and downloading @ 510 KB/s.

Browsing appears fine at the moment.

I appears that some priorities might be in place on the network.. Not sure tho.

1.2Mbps download speed on a 10 meg line :(

Logged 2 days ago with AH. Ticket ID: TIS-472-72246

Did the test and sent thru the results showing telkom guest account fine AH account dead. Agent logs a call with telkom to check and sort out the line. WTF

Asked why is telkom fine, another agent says it's not the line they have a problem cos IOS 8 was launched but they working at resolving. ... lol. What's going to happen when the new Windows launches???

Anyways, 2 days later and still cannot stream hulu without buffering every 3 minutes.

Afriguy please sort or I am giving notice to cancel on the 24th

What I would like to know is. Why is capped not running on full line speed as promised by Afrihost?

Unshaped Connection
Everything you do on the internet will work at maximum speed. Browsing, Email, Downloading, Gaming, Youtube etc. will all be much faster.

Hi Afriman / Afrihost

Speeds are close to normal on my 10meg line this evening in Pretoria, thanks for your continuous monitoring.

Test Date: 19 Sep 2014 22:18
Download: 8.37 Mbps
Upload: 0.82 Mbps
Ping: 19 ms
Connection Type: Wi-Fi
Server: Centurion

Almost identical here, Cape Town 10mbps.

Can't be bothered to do a speedtest, everyone knows it's pretty *** right now
Also in CPT and on 10mbps.
Speeds are awful tonight. It's maxed out at 3.4bmbps local and 1.8mpbs international.
Come on AfriPeople... what's the lowdown?
Hmmm... even connecting to afrihost.com is an issue. Site isn't responding. All others are responding but slow.

I'm still waiting for the explanation as to why the IOS8 update released on the evening of 17 September somehow caused the degradation from the evening of 16 September, i.e. a full day BEFORE it was even possible to download the IOS8 update? Or are Apple users just so advanced that they managed to jump ahead in time by 24hrs? Just how stupid do you think we are AH?

At 5:30 am you would think there isn't much load on the networks.

My 10 meg line is still crawling
