This isn't great at all, sorry about the poor experience you're seeing :(
Odd seeing the latency reflect in the speedtests but not a traceroute - I'd like to have this looked into.

Could you PM me your info please?

Haven't received a reply to my PM however speeds are back to normal.
Received these two conflicting responses from AH.
So which is it?
Don't really understand how the refreshed connection session would have rectified the issue.

We do apologize for the degraded internet experience you are getting at the moment.

There is a high bandwidth on the network that is affecting all accounts and as a result clients are getting limited speeds when using their accounts. This is due to a network congestion and we have ordered new hardware in order to relieve network pressure and once this has been installed your speeds should return to normal.

Getting 50 kB/s from twitch on my 10mb line! It's getting so bad that even talking to my friend in mumble on a local server is breaking up.

I logged a ticket on my clientzone, and StephM fixed it. She resynced my line and I restarted my router and now im dl at 10mb speed. Gosh the trouble I went through I even got a virus torntv thing whilst trying to bypass the utorrent and downloaeded a virus thing :( anyways hopefully its removed now and I can dl again. Thank you Steph for fixing it.

Glad to hear that your issue was resolved.

I don't believe that the responses conflict. Our support team have instructions to run through normal troubleshooting steps before they put the query down to contention or network congestion. They should really follow several steps before the reach this conclusion to make sure that we don't miss an opportunity to assist a client who may still have a poor DSL line, router or to make changes on our systems that could assist them where applicable.

We'd definitely need to look into that. Are you getting poor throughput in general, or only on Twitch?

Glad to hear it, though downloading a virus is definitely concerning. If you have a virus or malware running in the background, it could make your experience pretty horrible, aside from any damage it may do to your local system :(

My line has been stable the last couple of days.

10MB Randpark Ridge area all good this side.

Hopefully it stays like this.

Last night? Mine is continuing today as well.

My AH account has become dead weight and I've switched over to my telkom account. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't keep it as a backup.

No, it is a comment about torrent download speeds on Afrihost CAPPED accounts which are theoretically unshaped. I have a 10 mbps line, but for most of yesterday and today, I am only getting 2 kbps. Yes, that's right, 2 kbps. That is not a typo.

P2P and some downloads may be slow due to an increase in demand, this won't be around for much longer though :)
Upgrades are on the way.
