While we're comparing our "non-shaping"

Seems streaming isn't real-time enough.

Great! So this is your solution if you don't get what you pay for??? Nice that society is balanced with minds like this!

He has a point though. I am sitting on 4 different capped accounts. 3 of them are between 20-30Gb and the last one is a IS account of 5GB.

If one of them breaks, I hop onto the other one. With a decent router it's easy too.

IS has given me very little to none issues at all. Can't say the same about AH,WA and vox.

All I can say is I feel for you AfriGuy, having to deal with so many irate users is always a challenge. Here's hoping the situation improves in the near future. I myself have suffered with crappy internet for the past few months and just purchases bandwidth from other ISPs until things sort themselves out. Been doing this each time an ISP goes over a bump, which happens more than the average user would suspect.

To all the moaners and groaners, do yourself a favour, get an account with every single ISP you can think of, use them when the product is good, suspend when it gets bad, rinse and repeat.

Only in RSA; acceptable treatment by yourself.

Yeah but that is us having workarounds at our own expense because ISP's don't deliver on what they promise and not because we want to keep changing logins on our routers

True, but we cultivate this treatment ourselves.

While I'm testing....Here are my Twitch stats. The red in the Buffer line is when it buffers. This was a running graph from a live stream and shows about 30s worth of data and the buffers were 5 and 3 seconds long respectively.

I just streamed for 30min without a single buffer. It seems to differ between channels. Some have quality settings and some don't, I think streamers who pay twitch might get more "bandwidth" for their channels. Also viewers can also pay, but I'm not sure what they get. Perhaps higher priority or something?

I see you've "corrected" the 20mbps:
up to 20 Mbps 75+75GB*
Cost R716 PM (Incl. VAT)

EDIT: Looking at the prices again, the difference is R26 if the lines are kept seperate. Why is the bundle a R48 difference? Feeling ripped off somewhere.

Lines:
Up to 10mbps - R399
Up to 20mbps - R425

Bundles (75GB+75GB):
Up to 10mbps - R668
Up to 20mbps - R716

There's something wrong.

I'm on my backup account now.

Very wrong :( I can barely load pages at the moment. Takes at least 3 or 4 refreshes to get something viable to load otherwise I'm lucky if the text shows up.

It took me a good 4 refreshes to get to this page so that rules out if it was international only. Could barely load the Afrihost site to check if they've reported anything down (they haven't). YouTube doesn't load at all

Speedtest still seems happy though

And tracert doesn't show anything unusual

Any suggestions? I'm going to try Google's DNS so long because why not?

EDIT: Yup, definitely a DNS issue. Chucked Google's DNS in there and suddenly I can browse again. What's going on with your DNS Afrihost? This is the 2nd time in the last week?

I'm on axxess. MYBB seems to be the only thing working right now.

Something wrong with MTN backbone, both my AH and Axxess accounts are farked. Plugg account running fine.

What else are we suppose to do?

The moaning only helps until it gets brushed off with copy paste replies.

Don't get me wrong, I hammer the support techs if there are issues, however, switching between ISPs has saved me a good couple of grey hair. I don't even do tests anymore. If an account gets slow I switch and move on.

Ain't have no time for this BS! :D

Evening guys

Sorry I can't get to everyones posts.
Looks like we're seeing intermittent DNS/ connectivity issues on our end. We're investigating.

Please can somebody explain how i move from the bundled uncapped to the bundled capped 50+50. I was messign around in clientzone trying and somehow i ended up on the 1gb capped account :( I logged a support call but maybe someone here can assist. Do you need to sign up for a new package and then cancelled the uncapped?

Lol, in that case at least it will be R200 cheaper ;p Except now im on 1gb capped apparently :(

The connectivity issues should be resolved, sorry about that :(
We'll continue to monitor for any further anomalies.
